The “let me google that for you” site should go ahead and just shut down now. Because the days of googling anything and expecting a helpful answer are long over.

I'm seeing a lot of posts about how little most authors make...and that's truer than true, so if you take a chance to support a lesser-known author, it means a lot to us. Also, remember, your 5-star review will counteract the 1-star "female lead is unlikeable" reviews. You'll be a hero.

I’m curious if it’s also okay to hack my laptop, take my unpublished books, and distribute them. Like if I create something and it’s not mine, that’s fine, right? Or is it only when you have the audacity to set the terms of how other people can read what you’ve created?

Two photos taken from Downtown L.A.

They're from the L.A. Herald Examiner in 1951 and 1952. One from the Herald's roof, the other, I don't know, west of Downtown, maybe?

Not particularly remarkable. Kind of boring, really. Unless you know what they are.

They're nukes.

Hey writer peeps: anyone writing mystery or cozy mystery who knows of good author support groups/sites specifically for that genre? Met a debut author last night who's wanting to learn more, and it's not really my genre.

We're watching Freakier Friday and my husband recognized Manny Jacinto based on his voice, even through the British accent the character has.

We love our current pup, but he's endlessly ill and it is difficult to deal with. Right now he has a persistent cough that we can't figure out.

Jason Lewis became interested in learning the Choctaw language. At 21, he listened to recorded lessons in the language but still found it challenging to grasp it. In 2009, he decided to move to Mississippi.

No Dragonbane game today. Scheduling issues. :(

Thinking of writing a TTRPG in which players play the role of GMs trying to get five adults to sit down at a table at the same time on a regular basis

it’s a horror game and everyone dies

Like disability, it’s time for every American to realize they can become a criminal defendant at any time, at no fault of their own, without any means to prevent it. Criminal rights are human rights.

I went into an "antique" shop that had at least 8 cats roaming around. Also dozens of small cat figurines. It was like a Crazy Cat Lady starter kit.
But I also found this.

I don't understand how Clancy Brown hasn't played Santa Claus. His capacity to be edgy and comforting at the same time would be amazing territory to explore.

He knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake. (Or he might eff you up.)
a man with a beard says " is that so "
Alt: Close up gif of Clancy Brown with white hair and beard, wearing a plaid collared shirt and dark sweater, saying, "Is that so?"

This is particular to my interests this month. What is the coolest or weirdest thing you've ever picked up from a bargain store? Thrifting, 'antiquing' or whatever you might call it. Or tell me what you've seen. Or the coolest feature of a local place.
Sure, drugs are fun, but have you ever gone thrifting and brought home a terrifying friend?

I wanted to be a marketer and start businesses. My first degree (associates) is in marketing.

But as I worked on my coursework for transfer to a four year school, my dad would talk to me every couple of weeks, with only slight variations on the same theme.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?
