Happy any time I can talk about the Alabama-Miami Sugar Bowl. In this one I also get to bring up the 2006 Auburn-Florida game, just because. open.substack.com/pub/firewill...
It's. Just. So. Loud.
... But I guess that's OK now?

Watching this Charlotte-Detroit fight & thinking about how funny it is when normal sized humans have to try & restrain pro ball players. It's like trying to hold back the ocean.

I know we're all eager to dunk here (for obvious reasons) but ... yeah. Do take the vaccine. Srsly.

Thought "Water Perverts" deserved more Oscars tbh
Online fake outrage posts be like "HOW are grown-ass people drinking water? WHY? And don't give me those 'to stay hydrated' or 'because they are thirsty' or 'to better swallow medication' excuses. Don't give me ANY non-weird-sexual excuse. What are you left with? Weird sexual stuff. Water perverts."

Anyway, this definitely isn't a skill set that translates to any other walk of life, no sir.

An example of what I'm talking about. Nash is ... probably lying here, right? Like 90% of what gets said in "shoot" interviews is either made up or misremembered. So what are you, the responsible journalist, meant to do with the info? bsky.app/profile/davi...
Making this (Nash saying that HHH decided to work with and beat Punk instead because of some improvised line about Stephanie) much more interesting is that the story at the time was that Nash was pulled because he didn't tell anyone that he was on blood thinners.

A while back I got the idea of doing a "pro wrestling journalism" panel at CMA or some other large conference, where people from the industry talk about how to deal with sources & interview subjects whose entire job revolves around a fake universe.
I cannot believe how credulously - and prolifically - this stupid TPUSA halftime show has been covered.

Every media member should work in pro wrestling for two years

S/o to your preacher who, before the Scripture reading, says "If you'd like to follow along in *your own Bible*, or you can use the pew Bible ... or just follow along on the screen"

Missed Bad Bunny’s halftime show? Want to rewatch? (4x and counting for me). The NFL posted the whole performance on YouTube: on pace for 500k views in the first 30 minutes.

To this day, I have no idea what that Puerto Rican man was saying. Truth is, I don't want to know.

Pregame analysis from Rodney Harrison says the Patriots should "put the ball in Drake Maye's hands" ... Drake Maye is the quarterback. The dynamics of the game dictate they kind of have to put the ball in Drake Maye's hands

All of Rascal Flatts. Especially their poor covers of songs that were recorded by superior artists.

Turned on the CTSN broadcast in the car towards the end & heard Jamychal by God Green doing color. At one point he said something about milking possessions & not running offense till late in the clock. Stewart, right on cue: "When you played that was the whole offense."

Little Brother scored a bucket off an assist from Sister & we played the team that beat us 14-2 a few weeks ago to an 11-11 tie this morning. Don't think there's a need for me to experience any more basketball today.

Nice win by Bama hoops. Hopefully that stooge of Bucky's who threatened my sports editor at Samford has a miserable ride home.

I subscribe to 1819 News' daily newsletter, & they're never not on brand. In a recent story, the CEO says the problem with the city of Montgomery is, I'm not making this up, "gay race communism."

Unless you went to Samford, it's hard to quantify what a lift this edition is every year for our student journalists. If you did go here, you know it should win all the awards.
