Tradwife culture is not just aiming to restore “traditional” gender roles, according to researchers of extremism. It is also a force in formulating a new model of womanhood: one that incorporates strong religious identity, a specific feminine aesthetic, and far-right ideas.

Tradwives influencers’ throw-back aesthetics mask a divisive ideology about women’s roles, two scholars of extremism explain.

There is a serious failure in UK govt, politics & media to take sufficiently seriously what Musk said & meant with "fight back or die"

= Violence (interethnic civil war) is inevitable so pre-emptive violence - vs migrants, minorities & political opponents - is necessary to avoid existential erasure

The common sense meaning should make this Elon Musk's "rivers of blood" moment

Though I think he goes further than Enoch Powell in a couple of important ways

Elon Musk spoke by video to Tommy Robinson's anti-immigrant rally in the UK today.

"You're in a fundamental situation here where, whether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you," said Musk. "You either fight back or you die."

I am concerned about silence of gvt ministers & others to defend basic anti-racism norms in last 6 weeks. They seem muted by their anxious inability to separate legitimate politics from prejudice & hate.

Anti-violence norms - civil war is inevitable, so support violence - really should be simpler.

It also looks like he's reading a script. He has to keep peering down to get the words

I don’t think people in the UK realise the extent to which US elite are trying to make the UK shift to far right, mobilising white men

Incredibly impressed by Kate Scott and Lindsay Day, two brilliant PhD students at USYD who have published this excellent paper on TikTok tradwives and online anti-feminist movements www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10..... Such a pleasure to work with and learn from such smart humans!
TikTok tradwives: femininity, reproduction, and social media
In recent years, social media platforms have seen a growing promotion of the Tradwife’s lifestyle, where cis women embrace patriarchal gender norms and identities such as the stay-at-home mother an...

Big tech promotes the story that since ChatGPT burst onto the scene, AI has been so popular it's rushed to meet the demand. The reality is different. A study by design scholars shows tech co's have had to push AI on its users with a variety of intrusive tactics.

Only in America could a white man with a current net worth of $2 billion see himself as part of a victimized group. 🤦‍♂️
A screenshot of a message attributed to Marc Andreessen appears in a chat format with a gray background and white text bubbles. The first bubble states that he was born in 1971 in Iowa, raised in Wisconsin, and that his generation was told to endure discrimination as repayment for past American bigotry, even though the discrimination was now directed at them. The second bubble claims the last eight years, especially the summer of 2020, ended that complacency. The third bubble says “my people” are now furious and unwilling to tolerate it. The fourth bubble accuses universities of being central to a “counterattack,” alleging they both discriminate against “us” and spread the opposing worldview. The final bubble claims: “They declared war on 70% of the country and now they’re going to pay the price.”

I ask ChatGPT questions to see what the standard answer is, and to see how Ai frames it in as discourse. I look at it in a critical way. For example. I’ve asked it questions about its own company’s treatment of staff and it clearly covers up and provides a legal answer on behalf of the company.
