Just another cat on the internet. I chew wires, fix things, and spend way too much time thinking about computers, airplanes, old cars, and safety. No, I’m not from Iceland, I just love the name.

whole thread. CW rape.

what we're seeing with elon's digital rape & CSAM machine is collective gleeful revenge by cis men as a group against women as a group, trans people, and yes even children, for the crime of resisting the status of sexual property. bringing down the boot.
I‘m discontinuing my social media use for the foreseeable future and I want to explain why.

I woke up in the new year to discover that some guy on here had saved photos I took on New Year’s Eve and used Grok to remove my clothes. I know this because he showed me.

An American can’t even ask “are we the baddies?” without looking like an idiot for not having realised that quite some time ago.

Whatever I think of foreign folks in positions of power, I think people should clean up their own corruption and authoritarianism first. And boy does the USA have a lot to do in that regard before it starts meddling abroad.

Maduro has not been “arrested” because the USA has no authority on Venezuelan soil. The correct word, for any news outlets paying attention, is “kidnapped.”

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Unprovoked aggression is *the* crime in international affairs.

You mean to tell me that letting a rich, antisocial Nazi create an amplifier for the worst behavior of the worst people was a bad idea?

I’m shocked, shocked! to learn this.

Why is ague pronounced ah-gyoo instead of ahgg when the latter is so much more pleasing to mine ear?

I don’t hold out much hope for politicians to save us, at least not in any context other than at the edge of a popular movement. But speech like this is important.

The first thing I notice about it is its moral clarity. It points out, clearly, an obstruction to equity that most would hide.

The scope of Trump's campaign to drive trans Americans from public life is vast. On the last day of 2025, Evan Urquhart attempts to capture all of what we lost.

The Year We Lost Everything — Assigned
An authoritarian government, a captured press and cowardice at the head of most major institutions led to a year of losses for trans people’s safety and equality in the US.

One of the great crimes of a century already replete with them is techbros forcing future generations to waste untold hours building and using the skill of weeding machine-generated crap out from real information, all so the techbros could make a vain attempt at making number go up.

Tech platforms censor words, not meaning. It’s frighteningly insidious. This kind of censorship explicitly empowers bad actors by robbing their critics of the language to criticize.

Euphemisms are often the domain of fascists and predators. It’s a domain that online media wants to gate us inside.

I doubt that greater law enforcement aimed at holding engineers accountable for sloppy engineering that kills people will change outcomes. If you don’t hold stock owners accountable, they’re just gonna hire another unethical CEO and more engineers willing to cut corners for a pay check.
