The #EpsteinFiles show the depravity. But don't miss the larger point: their private sins fuel our public suffering.

Realising no one is coming to save us isn't the end. It's the beginning.
We must save each other.

Nobody Is Coming to Save Us. We Owe Each Other Everything.
The Epstein Files show their depravity. Our response must show our humanity.

🚨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional!

ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.

I flew down to south Texas today to do my job - investigate why people are dying in ICE detention centers.

I was just illegally denied entry to Dilley Detention Center. Because they have something to hide.

Let’s talk about #Trump, #Greenland, and how #Europe helped build a world in which all of this is possible.

My opinion right here on my #Substack

You reap what you sow. This is a historical lesson for Europeans.
To survive the horrific times we are living through, we need to reflect historically on how we got here to begin with.

who could have predicted that stopping international students, care workers and nurses from coming to the UK would damage the economy/public finances while yielding precisely no political benefits?

Overthrowing the government of Iran and installing the shah led to the Iranian revolution and the Ayatollah. Funding the Mujahideen in Afghanistan led to the taliban and Al queda. These unlawful actions could have destabilizing consequences for decades and this will haunt the US for generations.

Fascism always turns to war because of its inability to manage domestic contradictions. Watch for the other shoe to drop; a widening crackdown on domestic political dissent in the United States. What a terrifying time to be alive.

We’re back in the 1930s, but now with even deadlier technology.

Do people really think that the same guy who tried to overthrow American democracy when he lost an election is going to bring democracy to #Venezuela?

International law died in the rubble of #Gaza and we’re now seeing the consequences.

Whatever you might think of Maduro, the seizure and kidnapping of a head of state takes us to a very dark place. Vast, arbitrary, extra-legal power, which could be exercised almost anywhere, regardless of the character of the target government.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Britain has long sought the removal of the Maduro government in Venezuela, with evidence suggesting that the policy is guided by an interest in the country’s vast oil resources.

I'm not sure how much it is appreciated that there will be significant emigration coming. Those here on graduate visas coming to an end, the toughening up of skilled worker rules re. salaries/sponsorable roles and the 'earned settlement' changes to come. Lots of people are going to leave.

The government figuring this out slowly over the coming two years is going to be quite something to behold.
I think the government meant to cut net migration but have accidentally overshot the target by a lot. They haven’t realised this yet.

Fewer workers. Fewer international students. More people leaving.

A "step in the right direction" according to the PM.

Impossible to take PM/govt seriously on growth if they are deliberately reducing it (and making the fiscal position worse) *as a matter of policy*.
