Fast-tracking data centres without sober assessment of systemic risks is a policy of state violence that will contribute to & culminate in social murder via #ClimateBreakdown, increased frequency & intensity of heatwaves, dangerous fire weather, drought, extreme rainfall, floods, sea-level rise etc

“Epidemiological studies have begun to show a concerning trend: individuals with a history of COVID-19 infection are at an elevated risk for developing diabetes, often within months of recovery...” This has actually been known for years, but I’m glad to see more attention on it.
Unseen Post-COVID Diabetes: Causes and Forecasts
As we navigate through the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the most alarming outcomes is the increasing prevalence of diabetes among those who have been infected with the virus.

I wonder if people are really ready to live life without vaccines?

Small coffins, small graves…

The need to have more children to take into account the death and disability rate…

What a terrible and sad step backwards…

The brutal selfishness of the masses has been on full display throughout the ongoing pandemic of Covid-19. By shunning the necessity of respirator masks and other safety measures, they have shown a total lack of concern for the collective well-being of the human community.

22. Remember the flu waves in 2020/21?
No, because they didn't happen, despite not acting against airborne transmission.
The rebound wave in 2022 could have been mitigated by ramping up vax, masks, clean air, but no, that's not "normal".
There's no humane sick pay either.

21. Ultimately, we need Govt, public health, and public opinion to cause a paradigm shift where we start taking infectious diseases seriously.
Why do we tolerate "winter pressures" EVERY YEAR?! They are predictable AND preventable. The investment would more than pay for itself...

The man in the white shirt stopped one of the Bondi Beach shooters.

He risked his own life to save countless others.

He didn’t need a gun to do it.

He doesn’t appear to have hurt the shooter.

He stopped him so the police could arrest him.

He’s a hero.
Incredible footage out of Australia, confirmed by NEWS AU, of a brave bystander neutralizing one of the terrorists in the Bondi Beach attack which took place during a Hanukkah gathering.

Australian authorities say multiple people have been killed.

At least two suspects are in custody.

How awful. This is outright health disinformation, lying to the American people. Not only is there massive evidence showing no link between vaccines & autism, there’s not even a plausible mechanism based on what we’ve learned about the genetics of autism, some environmental exposures in pregnancy
HEADS UP: CDC website now officially asserts that vaccines may cause autism.“Studies supporting a link have been ignored by health authorities.” Also says the “vaccines do not cause autism” header remains b/c of an agreement with Cassidy.

Fifteen years of ideological choices to strangle & gut the public realm - NHS to schools to social services to local museums - is what underlies the anger "tearing our country apart"; immigration is simply the scapegoat that the far right are pushing people toward.
Why can't Labour just say this?

Opinion: D.C.'s new streatery rules are a costly miscalculation
The city's streatery guidelines are punishing small businesses and vibrant neighborhoods. We need a permanent solution to keep these staples of the city’s dining scene.

And this is exactly what I was saying about Mamdani. Yes, he emphasized policy, but there was also this overarching vision. And the two go hand in hand, perfectly compatible, with one tracing the outlines of the other.
Watching Mamdani's victory speech, I'm struck by his—and his campaign's—unabashed vision of the US as an immigrant society, a culture built from the ground up from diversity. It is a complete rejection and reversal of the search for a white-washed homogeneity that the political right projects.
