If you told me back in medical school that someday I would be running for the Senate and my campaign slogan would be “It’s me or the measles” I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT HAVE BELIEVED YOU.

But here we are. It’s me or the measles. South Carolina, the choice is yours. 💙🇺🇸

Epic work @joho.bsky.social !
Love it. A must-read from @joho.bsky.social, reminding Prasad, Bhattacharya, Makary et al., reminding us that the U.S. is facing several disease outbreaks, so they have a great opportunity to show the rest of us how their way is “better”.

I’ll be assigning it to my students next semester in my class on ‘policy writing—turning evidence into public health action’

Replacing the US child vaccine schedule with Denmark’s schedule is negligence, writes @drdemetre.bsky.social

It’s not only difficult but it is causing a rift in the patient-doctor relationship

How many parents can afford to miss 10 days of work while their child has chickenpox? Do we really want hospitals full of infants with rotavirus diarrhea again? Is this really making America healthy again? I think not.
www.nytimes.com/2025/12/19/h...

Switching to the Danish vaccine schedule in 🇺🇸 would be insanity. (1) The US, unlike Denmark, does not have universal healthcare, and (2) the Danish vaccine schedule is very poor (e.g., no chickenpox & rota vax. I vividly remember having those as a kid in 🇩🇰. Just 👎).

The planned hepatitis B birth-dose trial in Guinea-Bissau raises serious ethical concerns. Withholding a proven, life-saving vaccine from newborns to answer speculative questions is an absence of equipoise with real downstream harms for trust in vaccines.

On the same day he stripped AAP of millions in grant funding in retaliation, RFK Jr awarded $1.6M to Tracy Høeg's Danish friends for a grossly unethical study that will expose African babies to hep B for no reason than it's politically expedient.

Steal from American taxpayers, give to MAHA cronies.
CDC awards $1.6 million for new hepatitis B vaccine study in Guinea-Bissau. Although the award recipients aren't named, the grant seems tailored to Danish researchers whose work is championed by anti-vaxxers but challenged by mainstream scientists.

The rhetoric consistently othered immigrants, particularly those from Asia, spoke about them as though they were not part of the US population, and then went overtly polemical.
