Worst case, you can always sink to joining the GOP and be fucking President
This makes a lot of sense to me. How are people supposed to reintegrate with society and stay out of trouble if their record prevents them from finding a job, renting an apartment or accessing social services?
Objections to record-clearing bills are usually framed around questions of public safety, but there's some evidence that collateral consequences — like former prisoners being unable to find employment — can actually drive crime.

Israeli strikes in Gaza kill at least 60 overnight as ceasefire looks increasingly fragile
Netanyahu ordered strikes on Tuesday evening after firefight between Israeli troops and Palestinian militants
Israeli airstrikes on Gaza overnight killed at least 60 Palestinians, including 22 children, in what appeared to be the gravest challenge yet to the increasingly fragile US-brokered ceasefire and one of the deadliest days since the truce began.
The strikes, which according to Gaza’s civil defence agency killed many children and injured 200 people, took place hours after the US president, Donald Trump, said “nothing” would jeopardise the ceasefire agreement he helped broker. Continue reading...
