A fatal police shooting this morning at Lambert is under investigation. The initial reported details have an awful and tragic familiarity.

"Officers said [a man with a knife] kept advancing toward them, and that’s when a second officer pulled out his gun and shot him. The man was pronounced dead."

Will the Texas redistricting case affect the litigation in Missouri? Probably not.

The MO cases are all in state court, and they will likely be decided by the MO Supreme Court at some point next year – not the SCOTUS.

Still, the TX decision was a big blow to the national GOP redistricting push:

"A program St. Louis aimed to help thousands of tenants struggling with eviction.

Documents show only a few hundred received legal defense from the program in its first year.

According to Princeton University’s Eviction Lab, 17 evictions are filed in the city each day."

The line from Bob Wyss' "Block Gold" that sticks with me, (describing the peak of St. Louis coal smog) is from an airplane pilot in 1937, looking down on the city during one of its frequent "daytime nights."

"He described the air pollution at times as resembling huge, dirty, puffy dinner rolls."
Coal was the curse that darkened St. Louis. It took a future mayor to clear its skies
