My model roundup for 2024, started and ended with a tankhead build, but got a few other cool models and conversions in there too

It's been too long since I built some gunpla, I forgot just how fun it is

I can count them as allied knights for games, but lore wise I imagine them more integrated into my admech since I paint them in the forgeworld's colours, like to become a full techpriest one has to build an original armiger from a stockpile of recovered parts, like it's a form of dissertation/thesis

oh yeah my bad, eisenstein is book 4
dumbrobotstuff.bsky.social
It makes sense, titans and knights should be rightfully revered as some of the pinnacle of technology for them

While I count them as my admech, there's still a considerable amount of knight conversions bundled in there, so I'm with you on the combined operations side too

Oh yeah I finished Horus Heresy book 3:Flight of the Eisenstein, I really like Garro and wanna hear more about him, but that'll probably be quite a bit later since I've reached a big story splitting off point in the books and am on Fulgrim now

Since then they've been slowly recovering, but lacking imperium support being outside official segmentums and fighting tyranid infestation remnants, so they rely more on scavenging, repairing, and reworking what their faulty forges can produce, never allowing the same thing to be made twice

I haven't got a huge amount of lore for them, it started as an excuse to kitbash and developed from there

They're out on the galactic rim, almost destroyed by a hivefleet, saved by a space-faring titan, which they saw as a saviour sent by the omnissiah and changed their heraldry to honour it

onto the regular brush painting to clean up the smaller bits of grey and silver, and move onto the other colours, starting with copper, picking out bits of trim and mechanical details
dumbrobotstuff.bsky.social
Yeah, the codex cover design is great, and perfect since I wanted something a bit more unique than Cawl to lead my custom forgeworld full of conversions

Tech priest line up including my new servitor underseer

The underseer is from the new killteam www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAaa...

but I also explain how I made most the others, including the big guy, in an earlier video www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFQI...

Good luck with that idea if you decide to go with it. As well as adding all the appropriate Cawl/techpriest bits, I used weapon barrels as longer fore-arms, and added power claws and shoulder pads from cataphractii terminators, to build it out a bit more

roughly drybrushed two shades of the two main colours just to quickly cover most the models

Aquila, the Swift Blade. One of the fastest Star Knights units built by Olympos. #mecha #robot #space #nasa #conceptart
a giant robot with nasa aesthetics with giant thrusters, sword and shield like a knight is in Earth's orbit
dumbrobotstuff.bsky.social
finished the building off with the usual base style: industrial patterned plasticard, spare wires, and debris made of plasticard and bits off-cuts that were lying around
dumbrobotstuff.bsky.social
last few details, some devices to imply the kastelan is controlled by skitarii (as they normally have data-smith overseers), and some of the usual green stuff wires

The official servers are up, there were some issues a while back but they're all fine now. There was the workaround with community servers using the northstar client, which are still up for a fun alternative with a more consistent community and custom game modes

I got the urge, so I'm back to playing tf2 matches once again. I'm not normally one for online pvp games but I'm always coming back to this one every so often

train sketches; terrible photo

some sort of airmobile commando mech. needs legs that fit better and also to be drawn while not also being designed at the same time in an eraser-poor operating environment
I cannot reiterate, horrible quality picture of a pencil sketch of a robot. the arms can fold to be compact to lay on a cargo pallet and the legs have to be redrawn to fit with the torso
dumbrobotstuff.bsky.social
bolt rivets, some armour panels I kinda copied from the dunecrawler, and some camera device made from kataphron optics and the skitarii's antennae, I figure the crows nest would make for a good vantage point that the magos controlling the battle would wanna see

some things of note, the new admech units are on display, like the archeaopter(though I still prefer the lighter used in 1), the planet from 1 got exterminatus'd, and we're dealing with a new dynasty in the same copper colours of the silent king's
