I cannot emphasize enough how dangerous it is to dismantle our disease surveillance infrastructure.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

In normal days most prosecutors don't bring cases to a grand jury when they know there is no or insufficient evidence -- because they'd set themselves up to lose at trial. Trump only cares about making headlines; when the case is dismissed he'll scream about deep state judges.

I love this. ICE is busy beating up and teargassing people for no reason; his DOJ is ginning up charges against people who committed no crimes. He bombs small boats in the Caribbean Sea without any proof they pose any danger to the U.S. -- and he thinks he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize.

Here's a plan. Universal healthcare. Get hedge funds out of the health business. No hospital should be for-profit. Neither should health insurance be for profit, any more than a prison or school should be for profit. These are public goods--and a profit motive distorts the mission.
