in the last few weeks, people have said to me they don't like bluesky because it's too polite and people are too courteous to one another to the point that it feels soulless, and i have said on each occasion: "no, someone posted the words jack black ball bag the other day"
Jack Black: washed up ball bag

"I loved Chris Benoit, he was really good at pretending to fight in a pair of thermals; which erases the murder of his wife and child, the alleged locker-room harassment, the alleged long line of domestic abuses, etc."

I would very much like peoples' inner child not to be enmeshed in IP, please.
i've known a lot of people who justified their interaction with harry potter media/rowling's intellectual property despite her transphobia because it was such a big part of their childhood...

sooo where do they stand on JK rowling's potential role in destroying countless childhoods, i wonder

combine this with the money they spend on crap like greyhound racing and there's a huge amount of 'sports' spending that doesn't really do anything to help people in ireland who'd like to play or enjoy sports
Oh well!

To host the last game, the Irish gov spent €4.2m on a licence fee to the NFL, and another €5m on infrastructure and “operational costs”.

DCC spent €350,000.

Imagine if that money was spent on local sporting initiatives? A lot of kids in Dublin City don’t even have a pitch to play on.
NFL confirms there will be no game in Dublin this year

Pessimistic prediction, but:

At some point, being in the Epstein files a few times without direct evidence that you killed, fucked and ate a baby, is going to become a mark of prestige. Because enough powerful people are implicated that accepting it will be presented as realistic grown up politics.

Aramark also own Avoca, Chopped, Neat Pizza, and a lot of university cafeteria contracts. They're evil. I've been advocating boycotting them for 12+ years.
Pretty much every story you hear about prisoners and ICE kidnap victims being fed rotten and bug-infested food, the company that is serving them that food is either Aramark or Trinity Services Group

bear in mind that this comes in a context where Met Éireann has been under attack for years for allegedly giving overly severe weather warnings, including Retail Ireland complaining about MÉ's "alarmism" shortly after a storm in which people were killed
Minister James Browne said Met Éireann needs to make a 'judgement call' rather than solely relying on mathematical formulas when it comes to issuing weather warnings jrnl.ie/6940649

It’s true that what ICE & CBP are doing is not immigration enforcement. But resist the narrative that what they are doing can be divorced from immigration enforcement. “Immigration enforcement,” like “counterterrorism,” is what produced these atrocities — and, if not abolished, will produce more.
