I remain unsure if what has most news value in this story is that the Toronto Sun’s parliamentary “bureau chief” made these comments or the fact that Postmedia actually put down its foot and reeled him in
NEWS: Postmedia suspends Toronto Sun parliamentary bureau chief after tweet applauding ICE killing of Minneapolis woman

Postmedia says Bryan Passifiume’s tweet about ICE killing of Renee Good was ‘regrettable and insensitive’

To an extent I appreciate the need to take the Alberta Independence movement seriously but the irony of trying to host your separatist event at “Canadian” Brewhouse to be told to leave and then pivoting to “Swamp Donkey” needs to be highlighted.

I’m old enough to remember when the state raided LGBTQ bookstores to seize “pornographic” materials. And here we are now, letting platforms evade responsibility for the content they distribute. If X is peddling CSAM, it is responsible for the content, same as if it published the material.

Hey quick question, is this kind of stuff happening anywhere else notable right now?
The reports of violence, arbitrary arrests, and intimidation tactics by the Iranian regime against its own people are profoundly concerning. Canada strongly condemns the killing of protesters, and urges Iran to allow for freedom of expression and peaceful assembly without fear of reprisal.

This is real and it is happening.
We evacuated our kids out of Minneapolis this weekend and my spouse reports that as she drove them out of town she saw "multiple freeway exits where people are being pulled over." It feels like the Twin Cities is being subjugated by a hostile occupying force.
