Redmond City Council Vice President Jessica Forsythe has filed with the PDC to run for the state legislature, challenging incumbent Amy Walen in the 48th LD.
A pro business moderate, Walen is clearly vulnerable, having just lost a race for the 48th's seat in the state senate by 17 points.

Last night, I graduated from the Kirkland Initiative, an 8 wk program designed to cultivate future city leaders by making leadership accessible to residents.
I had the opportunity to meet all the City department heads and learn about how their departments function in tandem with the council.

Long-time incumbents Councilmember Jared Nieuwenhuis and Mayor Lynne Robinson each secured enough votes to serve their third and fourth terms, respectively.
