Visited Old Bellevue today to get a closer look at the facades that the city council is set to try and preserve through an emergency zoning ordinance on Tuesday.

Preliminary numbers show that 40 people were seriously injured or killed on Bellevue streets in 2025 - a record high.

2026 needs to be a year of record-level action and investment in safe infrastructure to turn the tide. Our city cannot wait.

After adopting housing reforms that included eliminating parking mandates and increased density limits throughout the city, Bothell has seen a major jump in pre-applications for residential projects.

Average number of units entering pre-application over the past 5 years: 580

Ideally #waleg would just pass the bill themselves and save everyone the time and money. As the article notes, Tesla already has legal authority to sell directly to consumers in WA. Makes sense for Rivian and Lucid (and possibly others) to get an even playing field.
Rivian pledges $4.6M for ballot initiative to allow direct EV sales in WA
Tesla is the only electric vehicle maker that can sell its cars outside of WA dealerships. One of its chief competitors is prepping to take its case to voters.

Uh oh, from my understanding, 3 days to 21 days of retention time is a huge change and could have tangible and chilling effects.
🚨🚨🚨 They are trying to *WEAKEN* SB 6002 by increasing data retention from 3 to 21 days!!! 🚨🚨🚨

Retention of #ALPR data from non hits is pure dragnet mass #surveillance! 3 days was already 3 days too long! In New Hampshire it's 3 minutes!

Negotiations are ongoing for how long the data retention for ALPRs will be. Note in New Hampshire, it's three minutes. I reported on Monday that law enforcement suggested they need at least 30 hours.

Big difference between 30 hours and 21 days.
Well that sucks. The Law & Justice committee advanced a WEAKENED version of the already-too-weak SB 6002, regulating Flock.

If you're as upset about this as I am, let your legislators know ASAP. Here's an action with info about how, and a suggested script. www.takeaction.network/xactions/463...
