Why would a newspaper subscriber want to read an AI recap? They could just go to ChatGPT on their own.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer is using AI to write articles.

Either pay a human for both the podcast and the article, or choose one or the other. AI should never be used to replace jobs.

If Walker had slowed down on the end of that called-back non-TD run, the clock would have gone down to the two-minute warning. Then SEA could have run 30 more seconds off the clock

Impressive mental health section on Jasmine Crockett's website this morning. Check out that second paragraph.

Interesting passage in Halberstam’s THE POWERS THAT BE. When the Washington Post merged with the Times-Herald, Phil Graham prioritized keeping everything to retain subscribers — comics, Sports, etc. Back then they were the scrappy upstart. Now the tables have turned…

Trump's reckless tariffs have driven up coffee prices by nearly 15% since last summer.

Your morning cup shouldn't cost more because of the administration's trade policies.

LEGENDS & LATTES works surprisingly well as a read-aloud bedtime story for kids of a certain age.

- fun weird characters, especially the large cat
- easy to follow plot
- have to smooth over cuss words tho

Enjoyed this story by @slmandel.bsky.social — IMO the NCAA should just have an age cap of 23 or so. No other eligibility rules. Would be much easier

The FP’s profile of Jay Asher attempts to restore him from the so-called excess of #MeToo.

It also blames California’s anti-SLAPP law 🤔

IMO the guy behaved terribly. He shouldn’t be in jail, but your actions do have consequences beyond the law

I do think AI / LLMs are useful as a tool, but it is really really funny how much they try to butter me up.

Me: [asks question]

LLM: That is a very astute question.

THE SANDLOT was released in 1993, takes place in 1962, and the kids idolize Babe Ruth.

A modern remake would take place in the 1990s, and the kids would idolize Henry Aaron.

(A very funny version would take place today, with the kids idolizing Barry Bonds. He could have a cameo!)

The Most San Francisco movies:

Honorable mention: Colma The Musical
the MOST Los Angeles movies ever made:

1. The Big Lebowski
2. Point Break
3. Drive
4. Heat
5. Terminator 2: Judgement Day
I'm going to start some new Die Hard discourse

it's wild that Die Hard takes place in Los Angeles because it's possibly the least Los Angeles movie ever made
