Milton Nascimento was born in Rio de Janeiro 🇧🇷 on this day in 1942. He turns 83 today.

After being adopted, he grew up in Três Pontas, Minas Gerais. At age 4, he was given an accordion. In 1963, he moved to Belo Horizonte & befriended many musicians that became Clube da Esquina (The Corner Club).

Jamaica is now under a Hurricane Warning, with the storm (Melissa) expected to make landfall on the island early next week. The Prime Minister has declared Jamaica a Threatened Area under the Disaster Risk Management Act and issued a Trade Order to prevent price gouging during the storm.

Jamaica is now under a Hurricane Warning. We expect the storm (Melissa) to make landfall in the next two or three days. On the forecast track, the centre of Melissa is expected to move from south to north over central Jamaica early next week, according to our Meteorological Service. This notice also just came out from the Jamaican Government, and I thought I should share it here.
