The biggest thing that happened this year is the show I was directing on finally came out. It was the best crew I've ever gotten to work with, and I'm forever grateful we got to spend the year together monkeying around
Our cat hotel posted a lil spotlight on Wisp on insta and included a video of him and our late cat Linus cuddling in a cat bed at the end, and I burst into tears hahaha

Anywho I was googling the history on a street we visited in japan and the automatic AI results were incomplete and missing important info, then the sponsored travel blogs below were also an inconsistent AI slog. I had to dig to find the wiki article and finally found some decent sources there -_-

LRP: had someone say AI search is "great for glance-able info and efficiency - of course it's going to be wrong most of the time, that's why it's important to still research!"
So it's pushing down the search results I actually want to see AND I *must* fact check it with those results anyway?

One personally frustrating thing about the big AI push is that it forces people to assess it in a hurry, which makes people careless. It kinda smells like a scam to me if someone’s hurrying you along, cultivating urgency in you, well before you know where they’re taking you.

We were at the Tokyo Skytree town to pick up some last minute things as it was closing, and I wearily asked Sam where the SkyTrain was when we were leaving

My most hated part of japan so far. I understand not sitting on stairs, fences, retaining walls - any non-seats - but the amount of literal cushioned seats meant for sitting I've seen with giant "do not sit here" signs makes me feral

Ok to spread some positives, a family gave up one of their seats for me on the train ride home, and while waiting on a bench in a dinner queue, I got up to wash my hands at a sink a few feet away, and when I returned, the people who took my spot apologized and offered it back
folks have been kinda weird about me having a cane here. I have one on me for emergencies because my chronic illness makes my legs inflamed, and the more walking, the worse it gets. Had some older women get mad we took a priority elevator for people who have mobility aids, which was a bummer
