Incidentally one of the last practising DLs was Dr Thomas Tristram who was a probate specialist and took silk after the Judicature Acts. He wrote "Tristram and Coote's Probate Practice" which is now in its 33st edition. One of the few shadows of the DLs' secular work left today.

I get the impression that Geo-Blocking is becoming more common. For example, I found I could only read a judgment from an American court by using the VPN with an American virtual-location which was a bit unexpected.

I know I sound like a crank about this but the remaining feudal parts of our land law are not leaseholds but things like Bona Vacantia and Escheat. Leasehold reform is welcome & necessary. But we also ought to get rid of the actually feudal parts, too...
Ground rent cap is good news (though peppercorn would be better straight away). Also welcome is promised abolition of new leasehold properties. Better still would be the outright abolition of leasehold altogether, a feudal anachronism virtually unique to England and Wales.
