Well, new platform means new people, so I may as well introduce myself. I'm a lawyer in Chicago, though I live in the western suburbs, and I'm just over 10 years into practice. This is a personal account, but my day job is Senior Counsel for the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board, a federal agency.

Also: if you work for ICE, even if you’re not one of the ones arresting citizens or tackling 15-year-olds or zip-tying kids together and segregating them by race, you’re part of the mechanism making it happen, and you should suffer long-term social and post-regime-change consequences.

Some weirdo on Twitter has been absolutely melting down for like 36 straight hours because I posted:

When this is over, do not forget what ICE did, and what ICE is. And do not make room for them in society. Make sure they know that they are, and will continue to be, reviled and beneath contempt.

If you think you know why US newspapers died, this feature documentary now streaming for free on PBS might surprise you. It wasn't the Internet. Newspapers were specifically targeted by vulture capitalists.

I composed the score for the film, which features electric cello & Crowfoot guitars.

I am DYING to know how long the Mariners stadium gameday operations people have had “do a salmon race but this time humpy wins” up their sleeve as a break glass in case of emergency fire-up-the-crowd play

See, I would totally ask them what music they're playing for their show.

Rooting for the Cubs this postseason solely in the hopes that when they win we'll all get returned from the Mirror Universe back to our main timeline.

At this point, why would I want to?

I tried twice to get admitted and was unsuccessful both times.

The first time, I asked to be admitted in person when Salinas v. Railroad Retirement Board was argued, and then COVID happened so argument was remote in November 2020.

The second time, my packet got lost in the mail.

So we had to make our way through security lines just to get across the lobby to get to our movie. Somewhere in the video archives of ABC7 Chicago, there's a reporter clip talking about this big premiere with the three of us in the background cutting across the lobby on our way to Tron Legacy. 2/end

I saw it with @mreno79.bsky.social and a law school friend at the AMC in River North, but we happened to go on a night when they were holding a big premiere event for The Dilemma. Huge crowd, Vince Vaughn and Kevin James were supposed to be there, local news coverage, the whole thing. 1/

"30-year-old conservative lawyer and activist who is Trump’s nominee to lead the Office of Special Counsel, which deals with federal employee whistleblower complaints and discrimination" cancelled his colleague's hotel room so she would be forced to stay with him.
www.politico.com/news/2025/10...
In late July, Paul Ingrassia, the White House liaison for the Department of Homeland Security, arrived at a Ritz-Carlton in Orlando with a lower-ranking female colleague and others from their department. When the group reached the front desk, the woman learned she didn’t have a hotel room.

Ingrassia then informed her that she would be staying with him, according to five administration officials familiar with the episode. Eventually the woman discovered that Ingrassia had arranged ahead of time to have her hotel room canceled so she would have to stay with him, three of those officials said.

And at least with a junior lawyer you can hopefully teach or train them to be better and more reliable until you can trust them more fully, whereas it doesn't seem like there's anything you can do as an end user to make legal AI more reliable.
