The Dolarhyde performance is iconic and he played a lot of memorably unsettling characters, but he had the sort of character actor charisma that even in small parts made you wish a movie would follow him around for a while. I saw him carrying his groceries home a few times in the East Village, also.
Oh, man. Tom Noonan died? His performance as Francis Dolarhyde in Manhunter is one of the most terrifying, mesmerizing I've ever seen in a film.

staring at the screen, no ideas, the empty prompt window confronting you with your own mediocrity -- welcome to the work, chump, you loser.
AI filmmaking is completely unserious.

You've got people with $30k begging the internet for ideas by next week because they have nothing of their own to say, it's just slop for the sake of slop. Embarrassing state of affairs.

shades of the SS diverting war resources to the death camps even as the Red Army closed in
How is it possible that Kristi Noem still has this job. Imagine if you’re a family member or a shipmate of this guardsman.

Me, emerging from the ocean one last time: the one with the Gokaiger ending theme and the Angela Bassett Did The Thing song in it.

When Trump posted the video depicting the Obama’s as monkeys, the first NYT reporting said it wasn’t clear if Trump even knew what was contained in the video
Have you ever once seen the New York Times quote Trump like this?

Last thing I saw Robert Duvall in was Widows as Colin Farrell’s racist politician dad. GREAT bit part in a movie full of them.

Great interview, this in particular really stuck out to me. Can’t tell you how many phone calls I get at work asking about a movie that came out weeks or months ago; no one knows when something is getting released except for huge movies like Wicked 2

Paid probably too much for this Real Ghostbusters tape today because I’m obsessed with the Gabi Payn painting that got used in a lot of the early promotional materials/merch.

Big fan of the mix of suitmation, puppetry, models and bits of stop motion that brings the 1954 Godzilla to life. Even if it makes Godzilla appear differently, it gives it a unique disorientation, like the nightmare we're experiencing is so huge that we're not able fully process it.
