The last 13 or so episodes of the original Gundam are as good as scifi has ever been. There's a perfect balance between the wider conflict and the characters' lives on both sides. The final battle would have turned out the same if our heroes hadn't been there, but that just heightens the drama.

Reading a wikipedia page about kabuki and it's kind of funny how they kept trying to ban stuff to make audiences less horny. And the audiences were like, "Believe us. We will be horny no matter what"

I forgot how much screentime combining and separating this piece of shit gets. Tomino had to include it to please the sponsors and keep the show on air, but it feels so undignified when the strong Miharu plot needs to compete with this.
