Litany of the Machine God:
A "full song" with vocals! Not sure how to categorize it, but I was listening to a lot of Skinny Puppy, Einstürzende Neubauten and Heilung. Phrygian mode, 75bpm.

PLEASE click and listen :)

Just recorded the entire verse structure of my next song on my phone in my car. It sounds GOOD, certainly in the genre I’m working in. Don’t let fear of doing something wrong get in the way of doing the thing!

I do also think that sometimes it’s an honest attempt to follow their own mandates to streamline and optimize their shrinking budgets. Most departments are given impossible and conflicting directives regularly.
The coming years are going to reveal a lot more waste on 'AI' like this by our governments, to the tune of 10s of billions squandered on appalling nonsense, all to make rich Tech Bros richer.
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) paid $18 million for a chatbot named Charlie, which the auditor general reported gave her team the wrong answer 66% of the time.

The chatbot's responses were found to be brief and lacking context, with only 2 out of 6 questions answered accurately.

No exceptions. If you use Gen A I in any capacity whatsoever, you suck.

Yes, the way you're using it too. You're not special.

"She probably doesn't mean me"

I do.
I've seen some vocally anti-AI people recently make an anti-AI post and be surprised there are still pro-AI people following them, and I can explain this;

most pro-AI people think they are somehow the exception. the way THEY are using it, SURELY you would take no issue!

well, we do. so fuck off.

Our entire belief structure in "how the world works" has been based on the idea that people, and then "educated" people are a key foundation of GDP.

That is absolutely no longer the case, but our belief systems haven't updated yet.

I think a lot of us in the entertainment field are having to ask ourselves if it really is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.

Regarding Disney and the OpenAI announcement:

Folks, there are no good corporations. There are no corporations that have your, or society's, best interests at heart.

Disney isn't here to save anyone.

Your only hope is government. Looking after people is their job, even if we let them do it badly.

If some guy stole my shit and made millions off it while wiping out my job prospects, and you, as my friend, bought that guy's cheap mass market replica of my shit, you and i would for obvious reasons have a problem. It being a massive company, not a guy, actually makes it even more of a problem.

MAGA regime officials are now threatening retaliatory sanctions against the ICC (International Criminal Court) in fear that the ICC may try to prosecute them for their war crimes.

Innocent people don’t do this, only fascist criminals do.

This post by the world’s richest and most divorced man on the site he bought to promote his far right extremism is ripped straight from the Klan messaging of the 1870s or the 1915 film Birth of a Nation that inspired the Klan’s rebirth as a PR stunt/Ponzi scheme/terrorist organization in the 1920s.

Wow: Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention (named for Holocaust survivor Raphael Lemkin, who coined term "genocide") calls Clinton's remarks "genocide denial."

"Young people in the US are not stupid or gullible. They simply reject genocide – something the Secretary might consider doing as well."

Sam Altman should never be allowed to be a parent. You utterly lazy sack of shit.

Learn to crack open a book or use Google search (pre-AI enshittification) and fuck off outta here with your weaponized incompetence dickhead.
Jimmy Fallon: "And do you use ChatGPT when raising your baby?"

Sam Altman: "I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT."

The fact that we have taken technology and science and turned them from something that shows "truth" to something "mythological" makes me wonder if long long ago, we somehow did the same with whatever "gods" and "magic" really were...

In early 1986, somehow, I saw this on TV when I was 11. I have no idea how - we didn't have cable, it was a B&W 30 year old TV in the basement. It's taken me 40 years to figure out what it was I was watching:

In any pipeline, there are at least 2 weak points - The organization of the process, and the willingness of users to follow that organization. The best pipeline is one where the creator optimizes for BOTH.

One of the things that makes sci-fi "easier" than fantasy is that repetition doesn't look out of place. You don't need to design 100 warriors, just one.

Started my next mead - Earl Grey and vanilla tea…OG 1.15, which is high, but if it completely ferments will be about 19% ABV. I expect 15-16% and some sweetness. #Mead #Homebrew
