JADE: im sorry, but your remarks of self deprecation made me very angry
once i was even more of a dork than you
but now i am one of the most powerful beings who has ever existed
i dont want to hear any whining about what you think you cant do

Jade shot at Fanexpo. Some of my fave pics. #homestuck

Just want to remind everyone that little moments of joy are so important right now.

For instance, my cat does not understand the human concept of kisses beyond Incoming Nose = Love. So every time she’s happy, she’ll smush her face or shove her nose into ours.

Please share your joys with us.

I keep watching terrible predictable media for the brain soothing, and right now it's all palace dramas and it makes things like AD even more interesting because it gives further context to things xD

Been trying to read some isekai lately.
Four frames comic about two types of Isekai I found and read lately. The first frame shows a young man with a sword. He says: "My name is Josh Itcantbehelped and I used to be a loser before a car crash brought me to a world where I am a god and half the population is made of SLAVE CATGIRLS". The second frame shows him crying and clenching his fist, with many a cat behind him, wearing bikinis. He says "To make it here I guess I have no choice but to own as many catgirls as I can...how tragic...". The third frame shows another character from another type of Isekai. She's a woman with a fluffy dress. She says "My name is Elise Robespierre and after being hit by a truck of terminal cancer I am now in my favorite 900 pages novel. With many a hot man.". The fourth frame shows her giving a board presentation to citizens, with graphs and pictures of plants on it. She says: "Hello citizens. This is my plan to modernize the agricultural system and prevent any further plague by creating medicine [...] taxes which ..." the text becomes unreadable as she keeps talking to her captive audience.

Hate to do this but I only had two orders this month and I'm overdrawn so if you could boost or check out my shop that'd be a great help! thanks anaisfae.art/shop/

Ha! There is a whole bit about flower language in the Witcher Fic series I adore & there is a joke about Lambert handing out tansies everywhere that always makes me giggle. Meanwhile for you: hugs and let me know where we muster for battle. You have my cutlery drawer and carbon fiber tripod.

I once again reiterate the point that Eric Adams should not be the mayor of New York City or really hold power in any way but I will deeply miss him when he’s gone

can’t we just make him sort of a ceremonial borough president or something

this is a real video eric adams posted today.. not sure he remembers he's running for mayor or what at this point

Kittens are truly a cure for all ills (in the short term). Roomie and I always say we'll sponsor a bunch of rescues when we win the lottery for both good cause and also access to KITTENS

I've talked about this with friends! I still have my original "to cosplay" folder I started in 2001 & there are Bible Black uniforms there because they were really striking, flattering designs! So many costumes were just "cool design from rpgfan" back then. We learned to do research only over time.

PBS Passport only requires you to donate $60 a year to your local PBS station! One amazing thing they have on there is shows from their Great Performances series, which currently includes pro-filmed versions of major recent plays, operas, ballets, etc.
moryan.bsky.social
Absolutely. There is SO much good stuff on PBS, I highly recommend PBS Passport and watching Miss Scarlet or a Nova documentary about outer space while or instead of dissociating.

Don’t sleep on PBS, plus they need all the help they can get

I'm super looking forward to doing it again (probably next year, maybe? This October if there is demand) and here you can see some straight off the camera shots. None of these have been edited yet. So much thanks to @dangerousladies.ca for running this set year after year!
elementalsight.bsky.social
It also taught me I need to plan better for shooting time - I really do need to have an hour for each model, more or less. Another reason I was glad I didn't have the water - I would have been completely out of time!
elementalsight.bsky.social
It did teach me however I don't want to work with the set with blood involved. Managing the hands and lights and fog and models alone was pretty intense and the water would add so many additional factors I just wouldn't really enjoy unless there was a very specific vision.
elementalsight.bsky.social
A few days ago I had the chance to shoot at the Dangerous Ladies blood pool (before the blood part was added) and it was such a fantastic experience. Both as an exercise in lighting and working in a compressed set, but also just in trying to create specific images.

every genre author I've ever known is the kind of person who will spend six hours going down a wikipedia rabbit hole because it was neat
tkingfisher.com
*facepalm*

As a general rule of life, never say to any author “I wouldn’t expect a [genre] author to know anything about [topic.]”

You will, without fail, discover that a statistically improbably number of people in that genre grew up there/did their thesis on it/have one in their lap.

My fellow men (and sadly, yes, it's mostly men who do this), don't do this.
