It turns out that ADD can be a whole personality.
He landed and got to his cousins' house uneventfully. I knew he would be fine but I'm still relieved.
14yos first solo flight today! Very exciting.

Y'all, the London show was amazing! Happy east coast new year; I don't think I'll make it to West Coast new year.

Soon my January insurance payment will be withdrawn and it's $421 more than the December payment 😭

I left him at the airport 2 hours early; he got to the gate within 5 minutes 😂

I am now going to drive the hour home and hope that the flight doesn't get canceled (or suffer any other bothersome shenanigans)
14yos first solo flight today! Very exciting.

Bought my kid a phone off of Backmarket. It came pre-gunked, so they're giving me a 5% credit on my account which I should "easily" be able to transfer to my bank.
We'll see about that!

My favorite pretzel (Rold Gold sticks) has been out of stock forever and I'm very sad about it

Lumpdate: I was supposed to have a 6 month followup ultrasound next week (2026) but got special permission to move it to today (2025) so that I wouldn't have to pay for it.
On Friday they called to move it to February bc their tech will be out today so I just canceled.

One present presentation I'm proud of: 14yo is flying to visit cousins in Ohio on Wed (thanks to $ help from gparents).
Before he opened the itinerary, I gave him a hint, which was an mp3 of this music (which spells "OHIO").
My little nerd had a blast transcribing it 😂

Just watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding for the first time in 20 years and it's still hilarious!

Schools these days don't have kids make ashtrays in ceramics but my nephew was determined to be rebellious. He made a "decorative coaster" and had to look up what a cigarette looks like to make his "dipped pretzel" 🙄😂

Nothing like still being awake at almost 5am to let you know that you shouldn't slack off of staring at the bright light in the mornings

SIL's family did a cookie house decorating party and texted the family group chat to ask for us to vote on a winner. The contestants were
1. A chalet
2. Twin Towers in between planes
3. Titanic pre iceberg
4. Apollo 10

Turns out I'm constitutionally incapable of making light of 9/11 so chalet wins

Trying to buy a kids helmet online and I wish I could sort by age of seller company. I want a company with a track record of safety that's accountable to government safety regs, not some keyboard-smash name that joined the market to capitalize on Amazon's low barrier to entry.

that the Whos celebrate Christmas suggests some knowledge of Christ, but whether this is our anthropic Christ or a distinctive Who-Christ remains obscure; some have argued Christianity was introduced to them during their refuge with Horton, which of course turns us to the matter of Elephant Religion

remember, if you have a winter cold, eat more clementines than it seems like you really should, and then eat a couple more. it will make you feel better, not in the sense of health, but just in the sense of "clementines are so good and eating them is great"
