This is from the NYT masthead editorial about the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. The highlighted line invalidates not just the editorial, but the very idea of newspaper editorials crafted by the consensus of a board. Better to publish nothing at all than to publish a line like this.

I would like to gently request that AI pharmacy bots stop trying to kill my mother
Recently, I got a notice from my new pharmacy provider that they wouldn’t cover my thyroid medication and bizarrely suggested insulin instead! I need my thyroid medication. Then a couple of days ago, they called and told me to disregard the letter they had sent. AI is such a time and labor saver!

I was in a car accident in October. USAA sent dozens of letters signed by "Jennifer" in "Claims Modernization" telling my husband that they wouldn't pay his medical bills until he filled out a form they already had on file.

Care to guess who "Jennifer" and "Claims Modernization" were?

Tonight, on behalf of Minnesota law enforcement, I filed a lawsuit against DHS to prevent the destruction of evidence related to the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti.

DHS is not above the law, and Alex sure as hell is not beneath it.

One thing that irks me: people keep calling the folks on the streets in Minneapolis protestors. They are not generally there to protest, they are there to observe and document. This is the product of organizing and mutual aid. It is telling that these acts of citizenship are seen as protest!

Remember the other day when I was saluting my friend Greg Ketter, owner of Minneapolis’ DreamHaven Books? This is him the following day. Greg will never say this, so I will — now is a great time to buy books from DreamHaven. Support Americans who stand up vs. 🧊. dreamhavenbooks.com

For every act of violence against observers captured on camera, there are a dozen Minnesotans doing the quiet quotidian work that keeps others safe. The occupying force can’t comprehend that. That is why they will lose.
The majority of organizing happening in Minnesota isn’t just peaceful, it’s INVISIBLE. Moms showing up who won’t be interviewed on TV, people whose ICE patrols don’t turn into viral video. The grocery runs, the donations, the people filming bc they happen to be there. Please remember this.

The fact that he calls a poster a billboard is how I know this man has never been to a protest in his life
KARL: He was an ICU use who worked for the VA and there's no evidence he brandished the gun whatsoever

BESSENT: But he brought a gun

KARL: I mean, we do have a Second Amendment

BESSENT: I've been to a protest -- guess what? I didn't bring a gun. I brought a billboard

I am so sick of having all the blood on my hands I wanted nothing to do with. I didn’t really start getting fully wise to that until I was maybe 20 when W was elected. But it’s been a long 25 years of learning and disappointment.

like do you have any idea how rare this is. i could be martyred in the most lurid way tomorrow at 9am and they’d have my first husband in a suit talking smack on tv by noon
kind of remarkable how the two high profile ICE killings this year have been alex pretti and renee good, two people about whom NO ONE has ANY unkind words to say. if they could dig up anyone who would willingly talk shit on either person they’d have done it

The fact that I retweet Bill Kristol so much in agreement and not dunking on him is just not something I was prepared for. He’s spot on here.
Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

I have this guy on speed dial thanks to his annoying center leanings. So it’s a big deal that he’s pissed off.
This is really something. Mark Warner, one of the more moderate and cautious senators in the Dem caucus, says he'll vote No on ICE funding:

I'm not sure Democrats in D.C. are aware that their base's rage against ICE has reached a level of blinding white-hot intensity.

They're worried about "looking weak" for voting "against law enforcement" when they should be worried a mob of housewives is going to come beat them to death if they do.
