My knee is even more angry now, but we're back home and I don't have to leave the house for the foreseeable future. Aside from rehab trips to the pool that is.

Got a phone appointment with my doctor next week to discuss potential extension of the sick leave too, so those wheels are in motion.

Those eyes say it's time, but also that she's felt nothing but love from you. Putting down a pet is one of the hardest decisions, but it's the final and biggest act of love we can give.

When you can, do try to look back at the good times with her. They happened, she was here and she was loved.

Warmup doodle turned into a slight redesign of Toon Emi.

I removed some things I didn't like, and tweaked some things I did, and I think I got her now! THIS is what I see in my head when I think of her!

Also, she got her butt and big belly back :3

Done with the visit with the physiotherapist and got a rehab exercise plan. I had apparently been doing the right things already, so the verdict was to continue with that plus some additional exercises.

That said, my knee is not happy about this. It's *angry*.

Finally there's her legs. Another design aspect I had trouble with in the original design. She went from unguligrade to some mix between that and digitigrade, but... I think this plantigrade version will work better in toony art with her. Big chonky feets are hard to beat!

Her face is mostly unchanged. She still has the floating eyebrows and larger nose, but I removed most of her chin and made her fangs poke out of her mouth a bit, showing she can be a bit of a gremlin if she wants to be.

I wanted her to have a clear and easily recognizable silhouette and I wanted her to have some more of original Emi's chubby look, so with that in mind I gave her a bigger, rounder belly and a big soft butt. Her boobs are still there, but much smaller (Sorry Tuzz!).

I changed her body language to be more laid back rather than energetic, but I still wanted her to have big attentive eyes to indicate she could spring into action at any time. Much more like IRL me.

Her horns are slightly shorter and thicker for a softer look, but still good for headbutting.

Some musings about the changes:
From the start I wasn't sure what to do with her hair. I ended up giving her a ponytail, but... admittedly I was never quite happy with it. So I removed it and made her bangs more pronounced.

I also have her hold her ears lower and made them more rounded and soft.

Well, despite using an Ethernet cable instead of the wifi dongle, my internet is all wonky and refusing to work right.
I'll take that as a sign to go to sleep.

Tomorrow morning I go see my physiotherapist for some good, healthy torture!

I used to be wacky and "overacting" a lot until society and adulthood literally and figuratively beat it out of me. Embracing it is like welcoming an old friend back home.

Sometimes I still flinch, expecting the reprimand that's sure to come from "being loud", but I'm getting there~

I've noticed... The worse things get around the world, the more wacky I have an urge to become. Like my mind is seeking a balance.
It's easier to kill the part of you that cringes, when you care less and less about its opinions.

Real life is hard, but silly makes me happy.

It's important to weigh the pros and cons of all big decisions.

I want to make a big burger dinner.

Pros: Burger. Food in tummy. Tasty. No more hungry.
Cons: every additional minute I stand up will add another knife to the stabbing pain in my knee.

Ever since this injury I haven't been able to stretch properly. Like, I'll stretch my whole body, but the moment I reach my legs my knee flippin' hurts like the devil.

So utterly unsatisfying. Like trying to scratch and itch and not reaching it. Like making hot cocoa with too much milk. Aaaaaa.
