God bless #NanGoldin for her documentary #AllTheBeautyAndTheBloodshed & for leading the charge to have that damned Sackler name removed from Every Museum & other bldg's across the World thru her determination & art.
It's a must watch to feel even a tiny bit of justice. Streaming on many platforms.

this feels like another iteration of the "what if I give a homeless man money and he buys booze" thing. So then he bought booze, so what, you are not his personal life coach. You did your bit now go live your life.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

Thames Water half-year profits leap to £386m after bills rose by nearly a third.

Leaks and sewage dumping will continue for years.

£20bn+debt. A third of the bill covers interest payments.

Captive customers have no choice.

End the scam. Nationalise water.

This is the main thing the resident doctor strike action is about, not the pay - though that helps retain doctors.

If resident doctors cannot get posts, which is the case currently, they cannot progress and may leave our NHS.

Down the line we will have a shortage senior doctors such as consultants
This year, 30,000 doctors applied for only 10,000 training posts. These are highly trained professionals who want long term NHS careers, yet thousands are being denied the ability to progress in their careers. Many are left moving between short-term roles or leaving.

If only famous artworks could go on strike, as the Tate certainly values them over their employees. They've put up with two restructurings in five years, redundancies and below-inflation pay rises, all while working in a city of sky-high rents during a cost of living crisis. Pay up Tate bosses!

They have no idea what they are dealing with. We have been hating things on the internet for most of our lives. We have honed hating things on the internet to a fine, monomolecular edge. They have absolutely no clue how much we can not get used to this shit.

Just subscribed to Love, The Airport because (alongside Daniel Kitson), John Finnemore is the funniest person I've come across and having a smile or a laugh is cheaper and healthier than getting drunk (not totally ruling that out though) johnfinnemore.substack.com?r=gwzl&utm_c...

My responsibility is to be the mayor to each and every person that calls this city their home. That includes millions of immigrants— of which I am one.

RIP Tom Stoppard, adored since a mid 1970s school production of After Magritte when me and another girl (I'm holding the tuba) were recruited by a local boys school. The passion for my onstage husband didn't last, but Stoppard has never disappointed, right up to The Invention of Love this year.

Communism is when the govt owns the banks

Socialism is when the govt bails them out

HegSith.

There was no “Battle at Wounded Knee.”

300 unarmed Lakota, men, women, children and elders were massacred.

By cowards.

Your word IS NOT final.

Those medals were unearned.
By evil men.

That’s the truth.

And that is definitely FINAL!!
