##FungiFriends what is this mushroom? Found today (12 October) in a park in Oxford, England.

A beige mushroom with a flatish top and slightly paler gills, growing in the middle of a lawn. Not clear from the picture but its white spores have coated the nearby leaves.

The fact that protests now feature people who don’t normally have to worry about what might happen to them in an adverse encounter with security forces is a HUGE DEAL.

It means that the “real” victims don’t have to suffer alone. It means that some people care about something more than themselves

I suspect he'd have rigged it if he could, but he didn't need to. He did just fine contributing millions, campaigning, and generally using his influence in every way he could think of. He has (or had before he blew it with DOGE) enough fans to make a difference.

No institutional design can overcome a lawbreaking president, a Congress defending lawbreaking and forfeiting its own power, a Supreme Court that pretends legal text doesn’t count to facilitate lawbreaking, and a citizenry that votes for all that.
Need at least one that wants rule of law. Maybe two.

Trump furloughed more than 34,400 of the 74,300 IRS employees after gutting funding provided by Joe Biden to upgrade IRS computers and to hire more agents. This is just another move to help Trump & his friends evade paying taxes while you and I carry the load.

Also, he's a senator and it's the House that's on vacation-- how much time and effort do you expect him to spend chastising the other legislative body?
i'm sure you're more familiar with his voting record than I am and can find more substantive complaints to make.
