I’m the notetaker at the TTRPG tables I’m involved with, and I’ve written most of our stories up and posted them online (with permission). Here’s a thread of links if you’re so inclined!
Bryn (gnome cleric of Oghma) was my first D&D character. It’s a trope that we work through trauma with our PCs, but she was the one I played as I was coming out to society as nonbinary while simultaneously leaving a controlling religious environment.

You don't need to reinvent yourself. Just change a few parts, add some new programs and a fresh coat of paint, and get on with it.

Anyway one last thought before I finally get up and get working on stuff (lol)

NC really really should enact some emergency unemployment type thing right now.

Lots of people dont have PTO to cover whats happening. Tipped employees are struggling even if they go in. People are going to be screwed

Primary roads are being cleared

Secondary roads are waiting

But the Walmart opened a half hour ago . . .

I wonder how many people will get stuck because they couldn’t handle three days inside

I complained last week we didn’t get the predicted storm; this week we certainly did. Read all about it, plus more from the last two weeks!
Life is like a Snurricane
So. You may have seen on the news that certain parts of the eastern United States - places that don’t usually get snow - are now blanketed in the stuff. As such, I am snowed in, and while I’d love to have you stop by for a chat and a drink, unless you already live in my neighborhood, I don’t think that’s a wise decision today.

Official reports say we got 12.5 inches of snow. At our house we also had high winds so the drifting makes things interesting (and hard to get an accurate measure)

This meme has been in my brain since Jurassic World: Rebirth came out and I decided enough is enough and spent 3 minutes making it.

To claim that protest doesn’t belong in church while at the same time attending a Protestant church requires a special kind of cognitive dissonance.

I have always wondered about folks borrowing a cup of sugar, but just now a neighbor asked if I had any cumin and/or chile powder - I do and gladly shared with them.

“You saved me from the most boring-ass chili” they said as we met under a streetlight.

starting my mental health day with coffee and stroopwafel and some favorite podcasts. Then I’ll be doing a few dishes and sorting through back copies of Food and Wine to see if there’s any recipes I want to save.

Tomorrow we have a delay due to extreme-for-us cold, but I had already taken the day off as a mental health day, so I’m actually getting two hours of leave back.

That’s a good feeling.
