If you see someone asleep on the TTC and what makes you uncomfortable is seeing them trying to sleep rather than the current conditions that are causing more people to become homeless - you are simply not good at being a person and you need to work on that.

Bill 60 passed earlier today.
“We see the risks, and we’re calling out this gaslighting for what it is — an attempt to weaken public oversight and hand critical services to private interests.”

My latest for PressProgress is on Ontario's Bill 60 and why some are concerned that it is paving the way towards water privatization.
Doug Ford's government claims the province isn’t privatizing water.

Experts aren't convinced.

A year after the crash I tried to contact the person who wrote the article and had a very funny exchange that really sums up the Canadian media ecosystem.

Emails have been cropped to remove sappy sentimentality that embarrasses me five years afterwards.

Hey so no offense but I think this opinion is bad and wrong. Your value to society is more than what you can contribute to the economy, and we should take care of people who need support regardless of how they "contribute."

I feel like this shouldn't be a controversial take.

This story has everything:

Ostriches, a guy named Papa Bubbles, a convoy.

Neat
In case you’re wondering:

The key people behind tomorrow’s planned nationwide Ostrich Convoy include an aging Burning Man attendee who drives a psychedelic school bus called the “Church of Bubbles” and a Dutch-born Gen Z social media marketer who imports maple syrup to Utrecht, Netherlands

Convoy organizers say they are at ‘war’ with the federal government, but insist they will remain ‘peaceful’

Despite fierce political opposition, cultural boycotts of Israel and institutions complicit in the occupation of Palestine have gone mainstream.

I spoke to some organizers in the arts about how we got here, and what's next for the movement.
How Canadian Artists Brought Cultural Boycotts of Israel to the Mainstream
Boycotts of Israel and institutions supportive of the occupation of Palestine were a fringe activity just a couple years ago. But artists across the country have made them impossible to ignore.

Questions like: why did you do this to us?

And

Are you happy now that everything is bad?

There have been hundreds of cases of extortion and violent crimes against Canadian Sikhs over the last few months, yet the story isn't front page news across the country. Why do you think that is?

The best series finale on tv of all time should have been when Khabib choked out Conor McGregor, then climbed the cage and did a flying punch at his corner while joe rogan screamed "no no no no no" then there was a huge fight in the crowd.

Instead they had more events for like seven years
