ICE left David, a 17-year-old boy, stranded on the side of Interstate 20 after pulling over his immigrant father, Hector, in Mississippi.

David began running in the scorching sun after the car and watched as it disappeared from sight—soon headed to a Louisiana ICE prison.

Here's their story.

And would be an instant national scandal if a Democratic Cabinet Secretary every did it. Two totally different standards applied to two totally different parties. Every day. Every year. Every decade.

Like, I think our society has given way too much political power to guys whose worldview is reshaped by political invitations to dine with the King of England and have no idea about what is happening in American cities.
Mr. Benioff is close enough to Mr. Trump to have been invited last month to a state dinner that was hosted by King Charles for the president at Windsor Castle in England. Mr. Benioff said that he was incredibly honored to be seated directly across the table from Mr. Trump and spent the dinner telling him “how grateful I am for everything he’s doing,” he recounted.

Mr. Benioff, who also owns Time magazine, said he had not closely followed the news about the immigration raids, Mr. Trump’s call to gerrymander congressional districts before the midterm elections, the government shutdown or the Trump administration’s attacks on the media. He said Time, which named Mr. Trump its “Person of the Year” last year, had faced no pressure from the White House.

Higher Ed in 2025 is opening your mailbox to see that your institution has sent you:

1. A Center for Teaching and Learning call to integrate AI into your classroom; and

2. An Office of Academic Integrity email encouraging you to crack down on students who use AI to cheat.

I'm old enough to remember when Donald Trump pledged in 2016 that he would pay off the national debt within 8 years. Not balance the budget, mind you, but pay off the national debt.

Lisa Cook is still the standout for me. Firing her requires rewriting the relationship between Congress, the President, and the Courts, but it won't have a meaningful impact on policy, she's not particularly hawkish on FOMC. All that effort *solely* because she's a Black woman.

"He charged Trump for official acts he took as president" is completely false, Roberts lying about that notwithstanding. He was not prosecuted for an executive order, or vetoing a bill, or issuing a pardon, etc. He was prosecuted for crimes he committed while president, but in no way *as* president.

You’ve gotta be kidding me.

This WaPo editorial presents a misleading revisionist history of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s criminal cases against Trump.

Then it has the gall to compare that to Trump’s overt targeting of his perceived enemies.

Really embarrassing stuff.
But the mere fact that a legal tool might be available does not mean it should be used. The
current rage over Grassley's revelation shows why. Smith showed little restraint in his pursuit of a former president. He charged Trump for official acts he took as president. He sought a gag order to limit Trump's ability to criticize the prosecution. He tried to accelerate the case to try a leading presidential candidate before the 2024 election.
