Last time we did this my glorious chat raised *over a thousand pounds* for the samaritans! Today will be a shorter stream, so my goal is £200, but every £ towards that goes to infrastructure that could help save a life. Do join in <3

(And, of course, if you can't donate, chat and share the link!)
Today's at 1pm I am doing a wee!

A WEE FUNDRAISING STREAM FOR THE SAMARITANS, THAT IS!

Join me at 1pm as we spend a couple of hours doing a crossword, making me wear hats, and generally being silly buggers to raise money for a good cause #BrewMonday

A dozen agents arrested this 5'4 woman, who's a US citizen and showed ID to demonstrate that. They detained her for two days and - when she had a seizure in detention and needed an MRI - took her to the hospital shackled wrists to ankles. Phone confiscated, so cdn't call her family when released.
Nasra Ahmed, 23, was walking through the parking lot of her aunt’s St. Paul apartment complex when she found herself surrounded by 12 agents. Ahmed, born in the USA, says she showed them her I.D. She was forcefully detained and jailed anyway for more than 2 days. www.twincities.com/2026/01/18/s...

Well, if it’s the 122nd anniversary of the birth of Cary Grant, it must be time to tell the story of the time he went to an Alice Cooper concert and likened the experience to shitting himself

It’s the 122nd anniversary of Cary Grant’s birthday so I’m obligated to share Mel Brooks’s beloved Cary Grant story. I don’t think there’s a chat show that he hasn’t told it on but my first and favourite was on Clive James. youtu.be/9QbATFlTaZs?...

I hardly ever remember my dreams, but last night they were full of administrative inconvenience - missing coaches, forgetting to check out of a hotel, paying for coffee with a card and getting a handful of 5p pieces as 'change'. Terrifying stuff.

Found a frying steak in the freezer that clearly wasn't top of the range, so cut it into strips and ate it with tagliatelle, a swirl of olive oil and a big squeeze of lemon juice (garlic bread on the side). Since finishing dinner, I've been having a little lie down.

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition,

The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance

Iconic imo
