There was some complaining a few weeks ago about how journalists as an aggregate group get unfairly maligned nowadays, but I think there is more than sufficient evidence from the last couple years that the bunch in the mainstream outlets has indeed been spoiled. This reporting is rotten to the core.
It looks like that BBC page has been updated in the last few minutes, so that's no longer the last sentence. I think part of it has been moved to this paragraph in the middle of the article, and the age is no longer mentioned:

The Atlantic has been a haven for charlatans and dim witted schmucks for a while now, so it’s not a surprise they now give this sort of fatuous coverage to the merchant of child death.
Over many interviews, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Michael Scherer about how he plans to remake America’s public-health system. Can he lead the scientific establishment he’s spent much of his life crusading against?

MTG resigning isn’t a sign that she’s converted to the left. But it’s a good omen that the left can win.

Israeli press is irate that Trump didn't push back on Mamdani saying the US funds genocide against Palestinians
November 21, 2025 at 10:54 PM
This whole presser illustrates just how absolutely impressionable Trump is. And Zohran has only met him for an hour—think of the absolute degenerates that surround the President daily, telling him who-knows-what. Remember him admitting the governor of Oregon (was it the mayor of Portland?) told >>
Q: “Are you affirming you think Trump is a fascist?”

TRUMP: “That’s ok, you can just say yes.”

ZOHRAN: “Ok. Yes.”

This "Soros is funding them" footnote occurs in the middle of an extensive (maybe 20+ pages?) and arguably cogent rebuttal of a mathematical expert's testimony. Page after page of detailed discussion and then BAM, the (((funder))). Perhaps these details come from counter-testimony, but it's jarring.
This dissent is perhaps the single most insane rambling I have ever seen released by a Federal judge. It's full of conspiracy theories about George Soros and personal insults to the majority's writer (a Trump appointee). This footnote appears on page SEVENTY EIGHT of the 104 page dissent:

I have another thing to say about this, specifically relating to the graphic. This is NOT the accommodations effect in raw GPA scale. This is the rotated GPA effect, removing the decreasing trend prior to accommodation. The attached graph shows non-rotated effects on raw GPA scale.

Sorry for the alliteration, but my mantra is education is a merit-maker.
Not to lay my cards on the table but I think this narrow focus in online discourse on who deserves to be rewarded really elides the actual societal value of the education system (teaching members of society important stuff that it's valuable for them to know)

Economic migrants and refugees from countries with median incomes <1/5 that of the US are not causing a housing shortage in the US. But if this was the case then I think we need to recognize they’re simply better than us, and should get to keep the houses.
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

Megyn here either characterizes for herself, or repeats this person’s words, that 15 is “barely legal”. It gets a little drowned out by the “making this distinction is pedophilia” replies, but it bears clarifying that nowhere in the United States is 15 “legal”, barely or otherwise.

The President of the United States is actively—right fucking now—blackmail prey to an army of people. Politicians, authors and media personalities, billionaires, world leaders. Trump has been a major political contender or President for a decade while being actively blackmailed for his crimes.
November 12, 2025 at 3:55 PM
Trump raped kids and the guy who wrote the “Fire and Fury” book about Trump’s first administration advised Epstein to blackmail Trump because, again, Trump raped kids. They all know Trump’s secrets and they all use them to extract demands from him. Him walking is a crime; him ruling is a threat.
November 12, 2025 at 3:46 PM
Along with the first one posted in the other comment, the 2nd one here in particular is so fucking damning. This is exactly the sort of blackmail that so many people have warned Trump would be susceptible to—written out in plain language by the blackmailers.

Caving now will teach Trump and Republicans that they can win any fight simply by threatening to cause terrible harm to regular people. no possible way that could have future adverse consequences

Centrist defenders will really say things like “Democrats were always going to lose so forfeiting is good actually” and, uh, they got visibility and a pinky-swear, and that’s it!
Now for some levity and logic based in facts.

I’m already seeing people insist that even with this capitulation the Democrats will still sweep 2026 because Trump is that bad. It was precisely that attitude that gave us 2024.

Senate centrist Democrats and Democratic leadership have basically telegraphed that their justification for causing all of this pain with the government shutdown was pointless, and that it’s their fault it went on so long.
November 10, 2025 at 1:56 AM
The Senate Dems will fold for a promise 🤞of a vote so Republican senators will vote against the ACA, while knowing the House won’t take up a vote. Spineless dipshits.
Should be pretty clear that without House commitment on a vote on ACA extensions, it is purely symbolic as part of the Senate deal
Q: Will you assure House Democrats they'll get a vote on ACA subsidies by a date certain?

MIKE JOHNSON: Ah -- no. I'm not promising anyone anything.
November 10, 2025 at 1:47 AM
Democratic leadership loves having just enough power to cave to Republicans over and over and over again
I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

The impact of the shutdown is exactly what everyone expected. They aren’t caught unawares, they’re intentionally causing misery as blackmail so they can implement a different type of misery (stripping healthcare from millions of people by pricing them out).
White House economic ‌adviser Kevin Hassett tells Fox Business that the impact of the government shutdown is far worse than expected.

This thread (summarizing the report) is so fucking infuriating. Nobody should give a shit that these people “used phrases” or “spurred discussions that included Biden”. These are the devils themselves, now at the late hour caked in blood blubbering: Buh Buh But I knew it was wrong! Villains!
Akbar Shahid Ahmed with the first report to confirm that former Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at the time of his tenure was asking State Department officials whether or not Israel's actions constituted ethnic cleansing.
NEW: Inside the Biden administration debates in late 2024 that could have changed the course of the Gaza war

-top intel official sought to cut support for Israel but Brett McGurk pushed back
-talk of "very likely" US liability
-Blinken spoke of "ethnic cleansing"

This was the Republican’s standard death cult position on waiting times for health procedures too. Wait times for certain procedures in, say, Canada are longer than in the US, where people couldn’t afford to go to the doctor and would wait a lifetime to get treatment and that’s not a wait time becau
If you just cancel flights, then they're actually not late! Brilliant stuff from Sean Duffy here

The federal government is about to argue that considerations of irreparable harm, the balance of equities, and the public interest are best served by denying tens of millions of people basic FOOD assistance. They are ghouls who should be dragged through the streets.
