Terrifying, maddening and utterly heart-breaking. Truly incredible journalism to expose and document this.

Still got one space left!
FAO journalists in Glasgow…

A few spots left for the Christmas dinner/party I organise every year for journalists - evening of the 19th December in the Southside, £35 for three courses.

There’s always new people who don’t know anyone so don’t feel nervous!

DM me for info if you’re interested 🥂

What does it mean to grow up in a "company town" in 2025?

Sellafield, Europe's largest nuclear site, invests millions and employs thousands in Whitehaven, Cumbria. But not all young people feel the benefits are reaching them equally.

🚨 Our new investigation out today reveals how thousands of people who've taken their bosses to employment tribunals & won, never got paid, even after they approached the government for help.

This has serious implications for the Employment rights bill.

I'm always moaning that there's no perks to my usual social affairs beat - so last month I moonlighted as a lifestyle journalist to tour some of Scotland's most scenic wild saunas, the results of which are in yesterday's Observer. Now considering a career shift...

Here we go! At Xmas I brazenly agreed to run a half marathon. Then I went into denial and didn’t start running until April. THEN I didn’t start fundraising until a month ago because I didn’t believe it would happen 😅

Wish me luck & please consider donating ❤️

Labour's decline in support is remarkable.

Support for Labour has fallen more sharply after this election than it has for any other winning party covered by the BESIP (though the timings between waves are not identical).
