A surprising amount of narrative game developers at #AdventureX are using Godot for their next projects. I’m not sure if this is just indie game developers in general or something specific to the niche

Really enjoying @celia-14.bsky.social 's new game The Daily Spell - jamwitch.itch.io/the-daily-sp... - it's a daily drop quote game that expands the lore of a magical world.

Valve isn’t perfect, but I think it’s worth pointing out how open their hardware is. You can boot to Linux or install whatever you want. If you want to use Steam you just have to pay them $100 for unlimited builds during development. It’s worth it just to avoid sending builds constantly!

I’m in London all week. Would love to grab coffee with any game devs / puzzle game lovers. Send me a DM or email. Alternatively, tell me what I must see!

I generally consider myself a puzzle game sicko and try to play all the games I can, but I cannot for the life of me figure out sokoban games. I just suck at them and don’t find them fun.

I’m really impressed with public transit in Munich. It’s so easy to use and clean and convenient. Also they have bike lanes everywhere! Toronto should aspire to be this good.

I honestly wouldn’t mind losing to any of these games. They’re all so good!

I am curious if the Steam Machine will support Netflix and other streaming services. It could be the most powerful set top box on the market if so!

Wow! The Roottrees are Dead has been nominated for Best Narrative Game at the Indie Game Awards!

Pretty big milestone for The Incident at Galley House: we finished recording all the voice over for all scenes!

This was my first time doing voice over on this scale and it was a blast, thanks to our amazing casting agent and director @soundswilde.bsky.social

@powerhoof.com I really loved The Drifter! I am very curious how you did the lighting in the backgrounds, that changes subtly back and forth. Have you spoken or written about how the effect was done?

Made it to Munich, despite a (frankly rude) snowstorm in Toronto the day I left. What a charming city! Order some random apple pasty I couldn’t pronounce and it blew my mind.

There are so many cool games being worked on in Godot. Hopefully I can meet some of these developers next week at GodotFest!
The Godot 2025 showreel is out! We're so grateful for every submission, vote, and support from our community 💙

Is it weird for a middle aged man to be blasting the K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack? Asking for a friend...

Do you want to keep your contractors happy? Pay them on time! Better yet, pay them quickly! Do you not have the money available to pay them? Then why did you hire them in the first place?!?

I am probably going to back to Apple as my main development platform once the Pro/Max M5s come out.
Microsoft has introduced a bizarre bug with Task Manager in the latest Windows 11 update 😵‍💫 After the October 2025 optional update, Task Manager duplicates itself when you close it. It leads to multiple versions of Task Manager running, using CPU and RAM resources 😬

It's surprising that in Substance painter you can't configure output resolutions for different types of maps. I almost never want my metal or roughness exported at the same resolution as albedo! #gamedev

This is a very cool video about a piece of software that allows you to paint in the real world and have it instantly preview on a 3D model’s texture. It’s kind of like a webcam input for Substance Painter.

I started playing Old Skies and was delighted to hear both of the voice actors from Roottrees in the first 30 minutes!

The Incident at Galley House will have controller support, and I've found it surprisingly complex to implement from a UI perspective compared to the mouse stuff we did in Roottrees. With a mouse, you can easily say, oh is the cursor in the visible thing?

Since I was already crossing the ocean for @adventurex.bsky.social, I decided to leave a little earlier and go to #GodotFest in Munich the week before. I'm very excited for both conferences!
