Just checking, it's now ok to flee your homeland, because you're afraid for your safety, and seek refuge in another Country?

Glad we've cleared that up. Let's hear no more about immigration and refugees then.

“If you’ve lived in Greater Manchester all your life like I have, or you came here yesterday — if you’re part of our community and you’re mucking in, you’re one of us.”

Our candidate for Gorton and Denton, Hannah Spencer, rejects the demonisation of immigrants and calls for politics that unite.

“Jim Ratcliffe’s comments were outrageous. They are offensive and they were deeply wrong. We do have a problem in our country, and that problem is inequality. It’s not immigration.”

Ellie Chowns on #BBCQT, rejecting attempts to blame migrants for country's problems.

It's clear that in Gorton and Denton, and across the country, we are replacing Labour - who are now in freefall - and taking the fight to Reform.
Greens can beat Reform.
Fletton & Woodston (Peterborough) Council By-Election Result:

➡️ RFM: 29.4% (New)
🌍 GRN: 27.6% (+16.2)
🌳 CON: 21.8% (-11.8)
🌹 LAB: 16.8% (-31.2)
🔶 LDM: 4.4% (-0.7)

No TUSC (-1.9) as previous.

Reform GAIN from Labour.
Changes w/ 2024.

The UN Secretary General has said it's time to move beyond GDP and measure "the things that really matter to people and their communities."

He's right.

‼️ BREAKING | Zarah Sultana has announced she's backing Greens in Gorton and Denton

Sultana said her long-term goal is to build "a mass working-class party", but said "defeating fascism" is the priority. She is thus giving her "personal critical support" to Hannah Spencer (Green).

Today I have written to the Secretary of State at DEFRA asking for an update on when the Govt will hold a debate on the national security assessment, particularly its stark warning that global biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse pose a serious threat to the UK's security and prosperity.

Scrapping the two-child benefit cap is long overdue and welcome.

But while Labour dragged its feet and Reform want to turn the clock back, the overall benefit cap is still in place and still traps families in poverty. It’s time to scrap it.

🫣 Labour in Exeter joins forces with Reform UK to block improving safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
🤑 Throwing away money earmarked for healthy and active travel.
🤔 What is the point of Labour?

Oh dear, it seems that beyond pointing to the English Channel, Reform UK's geographical knowledge is very limited 😆
They started their Gorton and Denton by-election campaign in the wrong constituency 🤣

At Davos, Jared Kushner presented the board's dystopian real estate vision for Gaza.

Gaza’s future is for Palestinians to decide. Not foreign powers or corporate greed.

⚠️Cancellation of local elections confirmed.
🗣️Labour leader pledged to listen to the views of all cllrs before making a recommendation on whether elections should go ahead.
🚫But he failed to spell out to the Minister any of the concerns he heard.

Nearly 400 millionaires and billionaires have signed a letter calling for increased taxes on the super-rich.

Extreme wealth means extreme power - over our politics, our media, and our lives.

When even the super-rich know it's time to tax them more, will Labour finally listen?

It's clear that the government's strategy of attempting to appease Donald Trump has roundly failed; when you cede ground to a bully, you only embolden them further.

It's time for the UK to show some genuine backbone in the face of the US President's aggression and unreliability.
