The funniest thing about the public debt of Finland that has reached quite an alarming level is that Norway could just pay it off and earn it back in a year or so.

I think it’s time for us to proceed with the plan to invade Norway, immediately surrender and become a Norwegian province
The entire right wing screamed bloody murder about "fiscal irresponsibility" 24/7 during the 3-crisis reign of the previous center-left goverment, and literally promised to end indebtedness if elected.

*This year alone,* they have to borrow 42.5% of the four-year *total* of the previous gov's.

On Russian state TV tonight, a headline (until recently) you wouldn't have expected to see. "USA-EU: Cold War." Moscow clearly enjoying tensions between Washington & Brussels, as well as the new US national security strategy that's more critical of the EU than of Russia.
