Loki's giant wolf son Fenrir has 2 sons, Skoll & Hati, who are prophesied to consume the sun & the moon during Ragnarok. Skoll & Hati's mother has no name & is only described as a giantess of the Ironwood. She's mentioned in the Völuspá and Gylfaginning.
Jack the Giant Killer for instance appears in many English folktales, slaying giants. And Wade's Causeway, a Roman road, or possibly a Neolithic structure, in North Yorkshire, England, was said to have been made by a giant named Wade. My short this Friday will be about topic as well.
Giants appear in mythology all across European mythology. These giants are often linked to ancient ruins & earthworks that they were said to have made. According to some, Stonehenge was originally brought from Africa to Ireland by giants. There’s even an earthwork of a giant in Dorset, England.
I'd like to be the Mothman's cousin but in reality I'll probably be a sentient pile of sweaters

- Mothman's cousin Terry
- person who enjoys soup
Ghillie Dhu (dark haired boy) is solitary male fairy in Scottish folklore. He's a guardian of the forests & kind to children.
I love this. It reminds me of a tree on the street where I grew up
Geryon was a three-bodied, four-winged giant who lived on the island of Erytheia. Hercules stole 1 of Geryon's red cows & slew both him & his two-headed guard dog Orthus.

In #JapaneseFolklore there is often strange advice given about how to escape from #yokai. For today's #MythologyMonday I've put a few examples together in this thread.

Germakoçi is a dark furred, red eyed biped from the mythology of the Laz people in the eastern Black Sea region of Turkey & the west coast of Georgia. They’re 9 feet tall, eat both humans and their own kind and have eerie howls.
Gerðr (enclosure) is a jotunn associated with gardens, fertile earth & enclosures necessary to protect crops in Norse mythology. Gerðr is the daughter of Gymir & Aurboða & the wife of Freyr.

Protect yourself.
Protect others if you're able.
Protect all creatures, great and small.
Protect your heart from heart pirates.
Protect mossy forests and the darkness, living and dead, that dwells within.
Is that a Cicely Mary Barker illustration?
The mysterious Geniti Glinne fought alongside Cú Chulainn in Irish mythology. The name might mean "Damsels of the Glen," so they are probably some type of female nature spirits.

Don’t forget to take care of yourself.
Don’t forget to rest.
Don’t forget to read banned books.
Don’t forget to dream.
Don’t forget to let the forest enter your body and mind until you are entangled with mossy gloom.
