Kiddo 2 got into my wife's office this morning and is happy as a clam to sit in her desk chair and bang on the keyboard. I'm negotiating us returning to the living room so I can supervise her a bit less closely.

Club Crackers are the best crackers. Nice crunch and buttery taste, but doesn't overpower any toppings. All other crackers pale in comparison.

How soon is too soon to give up on a book? I'm 5% done (lol audiobook life) with Tau Zero, which I was excited about, but it's just not grabbed me at all. Feels too early to pass judgement though for a book that comes highly recommended.

I happened to see a mom sitting in front of me at the swim lessons waiting area looking at a "how the stomach bug and food poisoning differ" info sheet. So I'm gonna assume she had an unfun night/morning.

Man this is so true. Having to change my filter after 2 weeks probably means something isn't ideal in my system, but goddamn if it once again didn't solve every damn issue.
The number of issues with my HVAC system that have been solved by replacing the filter is insane. Like how is the most critical piece of this huge system something I get from Lowe's for $4?

Having morals means having things you won't do for money. Being an agent if the secret state police/murder squad is one of those things for me.

The current old house joy is figuring out time based lock outs for 2 heaters(wife's office and kiddo 1's room)since they're on the same circuit and running both will trip the breaker.

As an update apparently my wife had organized some friends to surprise us in Frederick. So I kinda had to go lolol.
Welp. For the second time in 3 years it looks like a brief out of town trip for my birthday is getting cancelled last min. And this one will probably cost me more than the last one.

There's something beautiful about chilling with the Peach Bowl on the TV with kiddo 2 early in the morning. Rest of the house is asleep, but we're already at it. Her with her yogurt pouches and me with my Monster. Enjoying the inevitability of Hoosier football.
