+but the same as if you adopt different species and take care of them and they bond together. "Family" ties of blood doesn't matter the least. So don't worry about pups being 'taken' it's not the way you see it. I hope you think a bit and sorry for all the text. I love animals and I study ethology.

+And about puppies, humans do see them as something more valuable than their life itself. But most animals, specially cats and dogs at 5 month as late they separate of their offspring, in the wild they soon part ways and live their own lifes.
They can make bonds under the same roof, of course+

+Neutering is often life saving, it avoids them a lot of stress in a lot of scenarios, and it can help with a lot of health issues in the future. A lot of male dogs get killed from becoming agressive due not being neutered. Females are prone to infections. Both avoid lots of kinds of cancer.

I would invite you to study more animal behavior and health... You are imposing your feelings and cultural views on them. Animals DO feel, and think and react, but not in the same way as us humans, not even in the same species. They don't see genitalia as "valuable", not even all humans do.+

Lately I just say "no thanks I'm taking medications" which is also true, but still they get that dissapointed look. Could people become normal about alcoholic drinks please??

WOW, that parent... just wow. How fucked up. I hate alcohol culture so much as well... where I live they are mostly heavy drinkers of apple cider in a 'let's be social' way -to the point before covid everyone shared the same glass- and I always hate so much being pushed to it and always declining...
