Drama this morning as this handsome guy flew into our window & sat stunned in our backyard for ages. Think he’s a woodcock, maybe migrating from Russia. Luckily when we tried to put him in a box as per RSPCA instructions he pulled himself together & flew off

We went out to dinner at 6.15 because it was the only time available at a new nearby restaurant, which seemed ridiculous when I booked it but I’m already home & watching Local Hero & now I’m thinking, hmm these children & old people are actually on to something

After abandoning multiple overhyped Apple & Netflix series it’s such a relief to start watching Blue Lights & realise it’s a proper drama by writers with a point of view & characters you actually care about straight away

This is like when you half wake in the night thinking you’ve dreamed the answer to everything, then what you find scribbled on a notepad in the morning is ‘skin as part of brain? intelltignce’ in crazy writing. Except this guy is emailing it to himself wide awake

Weird how everyone just accepts that if you have something done that involves scaffolding, however short, the firm will store their scaffolding on the front of your house for at least the next 6 months

When I was a kid I saw a pie eating contest. All the contestants frantically dug in, food flying everywhere. It was a frenzy. Except for one guy who calmly folded his napkin, placed it in his lap, and proceeded to savor his free slice of pie. On stage. Not giving a damn.

Someone’s done really well with the casting of #celebritytraitors - resisting the temptation of having anyone to play the dummy. Everyone including pop & sports stars very articulate. (Makes it weird when they deflect to Stephen Fry as a genius when tbh he seems one of the least quickwitted)

Having vertigo problems at the moment because of some ear crystals working loose, & honestly I thought I was more robustly constructed than that. Human body mainly just a bodge of strings, chalk & bits of elastic as far as I can see
