Yeah. She’s not young anymore, but she’s also not so old that surgery is a massive risk just because of her age. But yeah, any surgery at all is always a little bit of a worry.

She did a biopsy with a needle at the original appointment and tested it on the spot.

I have the option to send the cut out piece away to be tested further, too, after the surgery. I think to confirm its status and know if any more should be taken out in the future.

My little doggo needs to have a melanoma removed from her back. She’s going in on Friday for the surgery.

She’s healthy and well aside from being a little bit of an older dog (a 10-year-old Maltese x Shih Tzu), so I’m not super worried, but I do still feel a little bit anxious about it.
