Fellow creatures, I've been really getting into the history and philosophy of queer liberation along with other related movements (feminism, black liberation, etc.) in this country. I think they have far more to offer in our current political moment than any kind of abstract ideology.

Took the time to hang out with a good (maybe even a best?) friend for the first time in like a year. It really hit home what constant travel social/isolation does to me and how important it is to stay grounded. Like if I have one piece of advice in these fucked up times it's stay grounded.

This is the first time Scott Adams made me laugh.
When I hit around ~15-20 years in the industry I want to write a book that's basically this. Think of it as Skyfaring but about rockets instead of planes.
I feel very privileged that I get to work in the era where space isn't quite a frontier but a wilderness. Where it takes the entire industrial output of our planet to have a few people up there in a shack. Maybe someday we'll walk easily amongst the stars but for now we tread carefully.

Deep sea creatures like jellyfish, salps, etc fascinate me to no end. They’re like this raw expression of the kind of organized complexity that led to us, but they're also brutally logically simple. Fleshy robots that know only how to breed and consume.

One thing I will forever miss about South Florida is the ubiquitous Hispanic savory pastry shops. They were everywhere, open more or less 24/7, and fit this perfect niche between a meal and a snack.
Closest things here that scratch this itch for me are PCC breakfast burritos.
