"Donald J. Trump shall serve as inaugural Chairman of the Board of Peace... The Chairman shall at all times designate a successor for the role of Chairman."

So Don Jr will still be in charge even if Kamala Harris wins the presidency in a landslide in 2028.

Complicated history here. My take (admittedly naive) has always been that Apple under Jobs (soon followed by FB) paywalled the open web by taking advantage of a genuine debate within the web standards movement about Flash and openness. The history of mobile Safari reveals some of this.
It is interesting on this 25th anniversary of Wikipedia to ponder: what factors of the blooming of the early Internet led to Linux and Wikipedia; why the mobile explosion didn’t lead to similar commons explosions; and whether the Claude Code moment is more 1991-2001 or 2007-2008.
And in the current moment (which is very different from the seed moments of Linux and Wikipedia) doing that community construction probably requires doing something that both (1) breaks through the noise but (2) performs a filtering function to keep a good ratio of contributors:hangers-on.

I was obsessed with this game, which required the supercharger cassette accessory, in no small part due to its tendency to crash frequently and leave me wondering what I’d missed.

A nice illustration of one of the tenets of perspectivalism qua Nietzsche: the “sum” of all perspectives is not Truth but yet another perspective. If you assume the former you’re doing it wrong.
The forensic promise of networked images was: the more digital footage there is of an event, the more reliably that event can be reconstructed. Methodologically, this still seems true. Politically, however, the opposite seems to be the case: the more images, the more competing versions of reality

The more you read about “consciousness” these days (in English, at least) the more you notice the absence of “desire”. Do they take the role of unconscious desire seriously? The phenomenological and psychoanalytic traditions are almost completely ignored.

“lived experience” is a knotty phrase. What would non-lived experience be? Or lived non-experience?

Whence this treatment of the summary as a mere window into the essence of the “summarized” text? We don’t treat sources this way in academic writing. AI produces a source about a source about something in the field. So now you have 2 sources instead of one. This saves time?
This is one of the reasons I remain horrified by seeing @historians.org suggest "ways to use gAI" that included this:

Possibly fruitful path for future research from B. Stiegler: “… the process of transindividuation is one of the concepts absent from Saussure’s structural linguistics: this absence will block its development, to the great detriment of generative grammar.”
