To be fair, the generally accepted view is that the Bay Area consists of the *entirety* of nine Bay Area counties - Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Sonoma, and Solano counties.

In that context, Tracy is certainly Bay Area adjacent.

I consider that a big stretch. I consider the "Bay Area" to be that geographical area that is defined by the ridges that are within sight of the SF Bay. I consider "Bay Area' to be more a geographical term and less an economic one, though I know most folks take the opposite view.
