I have to listen to this again. To paraphrase Finchelstein:

"Lying is a FEATURE, not a bug, of fascism. For the fascist, the 'truth' is whatever allows them to dominate others. They see their lies as in service to a larger truth, which is itself a bigger lie."

Check out this great listen on Audible.com. "There is no better book on fascism's complex and vexed relationship with truth." (Jason Stanley, author of How Fascism Works: The Politics of Us and Them) ...

T. Adorno: Hitler and Goebbels: "a band of conspirators installed as the police. Their usurpation reveals that inherent in the myth of power." In fascism. "the elites are self-appointed. Arrest is assault, judgment violence."

If people are finding out as a late as now how Trumpism is wannabe fascism, they should be accepted in a big pro-democracy, pro-pluralism, pro-equality tent. Their belated dissent is welcome. Democracy is in danger and this is not the time for the usual holier-than-thou approach!

Yes, by all means, shut down JFK, LGA, O'Hare, and LAX. What could go wrong?
Markwayne Mullin: "I agree with what Lindsey is saying on defunding these sanctuary cities. We should pull our TSA agents out of their airports and not allow their airpot to be classified as international or even a regional hub. We should pull all of our aid."

For sure. And the small number who did were told they/we were exaggerating.
I recently read this short book by @finchelsteinf.bsky.social - Breve Historia de la Mentira Fascista (I read it in Spanish from library here) and took a picture of the page on that exact subject.

We are informed that a leader of state terrorism is an antisemite. We need to remember how this makes sense in light of the fascist tradition in politics. Fascism always involves racism & xenophobia. I will explain why this connects w/ some fascist variants, including Nazism.

In Copenhagen, over 10,000 Danes led by veterans assemble to protest against the disrespect of fallen Danes by Trump and his hand-picked ambassador. They stared at the embassy in silence. “We are not losing anything. It is the Americans who are losing something. They are losing us.”
