You're stranded on a desert island and can only take one actors filmography.

I'm a star wars nerd so Harrison Ford is hard to beat because I also get Indiana Jones, Blade Runner, The Fugitive, American Graffiti, Presumed Innocent...
This is a Bill Simmons game, but you’re stranded on a desert island. You can only have one actor’s filmography. You get it all, including cameos. But just the one performer.

I’m taking Cate Blanchett: Talented Mr. Ripley, LOTR, Life Aquatic, Black Bag, Tár, Ponyo, Hot Fuzz, Eyes Wide Shut, Thor

Why do the worst SFX people seem to get the top jobs? The de-ageing job done on Noah Schnapp is awful. They've got loads of footage of him at that age: they've made a mess of his face shape!

@manchestereveningnews.co.uk again getting its facts wrong.

If you can see past the ads which keep shifting the page and causing loading issues you'll see a claim that Manchester City Centre was historically in Cheshire. It wasn't: it was Lancashire; as stated later in the article.

Junk.

I don't drive; my wife has an EV. She can't use public transport for work (NHS) due to needing to visit various locations (our PT network just isn't close to good enough). With the EV duty plus charging plus huge cost of buying an EV, this doesn't make much sense.

Yes, that’s why Labour MPs lost the whip over it
This has been a Labour policy since the Tories introduced it, so don’t go rushing to claim credit for it because the majority of the Labour backbenchers have been pushing this for a long time. Now they’re in government and in a position to remove it and they have done so.

Raiding the Warm Homes Plan to find the money for a one-off cut to energy bills is utterly perverse when the Plan exists precisely to insulate homes & thus keep bills lower in perpetuity- this simply isn’t serious #budget2025

The Greens could really do with the Unite funding that Labour usually get @unitetheunion.bsky.social

Maybe put it to the members? This one will vote for shifting to the Green party.
💼 Stealth taxes are workers paying the price, this is the wrong choice.

The chancellor has picked a side. Health workers, engineers, and tanker drivers will pay by stealth taxes, while city bankers and billionaires are unscathed.

Just passed a neighbour on the street. He and his wife (both retired) live in a huge house and he mentioned downsizing but said "the trouble is, if I have to pay £40k stamp duty it's not worth it"

YEAH BUT how much did you pay for it and how much will you get??

I was in a rush so didn't ask 😶

Surely the City can come up with something more interesting to keep trying to attack me with?

So reassuring to see again how how easy it is for racists to forget their funny bantz from decades ago and dress it yup as schoolboy japes. Not so easy for those who suffer it

She reported him missing to Houston police. But instead of reuniting them, the city turned him over to ICE.

“They’re failing all of us,” his mom said.

There was civilization in the Americas before the settlers arrived. The other work being performed here is to erase that and present settlement as the arrival of civilization instead of the annihilation of another
Neither Trump, nor half of his cabinet have “ancestors” who were in North America before the revolution. I’d guess that less than half of current US citizens do. “Your ancestors” is doing a lot of implicitly white Christian nationalist work here.

I don't put this on very often, mostly because going to Manchester indie nights in my 20s made sure I'd heard much of it more than enough times.

But thought I'd give Mani's basslines another listen this weekend. He played bass like Ringo played drums: always exactly the right thing for the song.
