This cartoon did piss off parental watchdog groups. It was one of the leading factors to why there were so many Scooby-Doo clones in the 1970s.
Here's some fun animation history trivia, the world's first ever toy-based cartoon was 'Hot Wheels'. Based on the Mattel toy of the same name, it ran for two seasons from 1969 through 1971 on ABC.
