UPDATE: In emailed statement to me / @reason.com, DHS alleges that WGN-TV producer Debbie Brockman "threw objects at Border Patrol’s car and she was placed under arrest for assault on a federal law enforcement officer."

As agents were driving, Deborah Brockman, a U.S. citizen, threw objects at Border Patrol’s car and she was placed under arrest for assault on a federal law enforcement officer.

“This incident is not isolated and reflects a growing and dangerous trend of illegal aliens violently resisting arrest and agitators and criminals ramming cars into our law enforcement officers. These attacks highlight the dangers our law enforcement officers face daily—all while receiving no pay thanks to the Democrats’ government shutdown.”

This happened in Louisiana, Louisiana State Police are the same police that had a DOJ probe for systemically targeting Black motorists with excessive force (and in most cases deadly force), this is not new but it’s horrible that LSP continues to prey upon Black motorists

but a white police officer was caught on camera tampering with a witness and other evidence for the express purpose of framing LSU football player Kyren Lacy for a vehicular manslaughter he had NOTHING to do with.

Kyren took his own life in April.

Some context that I think gets lost by calling people here "protesters." Strictly true that they were protesting. But this was neighborhood. Almost all of it was people who came out of their houses and pleaded to stop using gas because there were kids in houses/yards in the blocks off Kedzie.

Again, this is what the SCOTUS has sanctioned. On Sept. 10th @chrislhayes.bsky.social and I talked about Justice Kavanaugh’s opinion white-washing ICE raids in Noem v. Vazquez Perdomo. His fact-free opinion was either naive, lazy, or sinister. The Trump Admin read it as a green light.
