From today, the Crime Writers Association will no longer be posting on X.

The safety and wellbeing of our members is always our priority, and following ongoing concerns around user safety, privacy, and recent AI-related issues, we’ve decided to step back from active use of this platform.

I LOVE this crime debut by @franapunk.bsky.social
Set in 1970s Glasgow , the narration switches between 12-yr-old Janey, who finds a body, and her grandmother.

Very well-written, with strong voices & characters I care about. Themes of grief, memory, and how women cope.
Great!

Thanks to @paulconnell.bsky.social for belter of a review. You are a gent Paul 🙏
Out in February. Even if you don't do crime fiction, worth reading. No police procedural nonsense, just the effects of a crime on a wee girl, her gran and their community.
Beautifully ambiguous ending too.
